Bluetooth Headset?
Hello fellow riders!
So I am in the market for a Bluetooth headset to go inside of my helmet. I know they can be expensive but I am not looking to spend alot of money here. There are some inexpensive ones..not sure if they are worth buying though. I am just looking for something that will play music, make/receive calls and possibly link with my friend who has a Sena 20s (unsure if any NON Sena sets will connect). Any recommendations?

We had Senas for a while. We switched to Cardos now, in large part because the riding club uses them, but the thing I noticed is that the Cardo will reconnect if you get too far apart and then come close again. The Sena didn't, but I think they're working on making that happen with an update. Also the range is better on the Cardo than the Sena.

Kerry, do you wear earplugs while riding? If so, is the volume of the headset enough to offset?
My just-retired street lid was a Schuberth S2. There's an integrated system made for that helmet, built into the neck roll. I was disappointed with it and returned it, partly because putting the electronics into the neck roll didn't work out very well, but also because the volume just wasn't enough to let me hear the podcasts I like to listen to while riding.

sena 20s here ware ear plugs here loud enough for in town but the wind noise out of town is to much it just turns into background noise, (helmet is agv s3 with integrated shade)noisy helmet, but so comfy that I put up with it wear ear plugs. and have had other people have other brands and some can connect and some not, even the ones that can connect can be a pain in the a** to connect, I would suggest if your friends have 20s's then just bight the bullet and get one to.

I have no friends.
My only use for such a gadget is for radio and phone audio.

I don't wear earplugs (trying to find a type I can tolerate) but my husband does, and both of us can hear well with the headsets. Both brands had enough volume.

Update:
I just picked up a Plugfones Liberate 2.0 bluetooth earbuds. So far, liking 'em a lot. Not that expensive at $80 and they come with the silicone "Christmas tree" tips that have worked well for me. The driver housings are about the size of a chickpea, so they do protrude a just a bit. However, my current helmet (a Shoei RF1200 has removable pieces in the liner and pockets designed to accommodate speakers, so the driver housings don't press on anything.

any update on the plugfones? I've been contemplating these. I have a Bilt helmet with built in sena system. the mic is crystal clear when I receive calls, but the speakers aren't powerful enough when going highway speeds.
