Ninja EX250 2006 Cleaning Cam Chain Tensioner Help???

So, I disassembled the Cam Chain Tensioner to clean, and it looks like the small thin spring needs replacing. . .But, when putting the parts back together, I noticed on the Kawasaki parts list that I was missing a part???

It's a small collar, Part 92027-1240. But, I'm not sure where it fits??? I thought that there was just the metal PUSHROD, Small Spring, Large Spring and the (ball bearing retainer)

Does anyone know where this smaller collar fits onto?

If you look at the pdf that I included it shows it as No. 92027.

Any help would be appreciated. . .

Conical sleeve fits into body of tensioner. It's the part that 'locks' position of plunger as it adjusts. Orientation of sleeve is important as it allows one-way movement.

So, how does the Cam-Tensioner fo back together?

'Conical Sleeve' or (collar) slide down the Pushrod ontop of the BIG spring-- then the Ballbearing retainer??

Thanks, Ray-

Does it matter if the Dark Gray rim of the 'Conical Sleeve' is on the bottom or Top??

Yes, test assembling it without springs and try pushing back & forth on plunger. You'll find that it moves in one direction only. And that direction is dictated by sleeve. Orient it so plunger only moves towards engine.
