Chica, Klock Build Bikes For Children's Ride Charity Auction
Seattle (May 29, 2008) - Shoppers and do-gooders alike will have a chance to splurge on one-of-a-kind offerings at the Children's Ride 13 gala and auction - without the guilt. The Imagine Guild Children's Ride, an annual charity event benefiting Seattle's Children's Hospital, today unveiled 15 exclusive items that will be on the auction block during its dinner gala and auction on Friday, June 27, at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency Hotel. The Imagine Guild hopes to raise $500,000 for Children's Hospital at the event.

The auction selection includes two custom-designed motorcycles; several luxury travel packages; original works of art by local celebrities and Children's Hospital patients; a wine collection; and jewelry from Dacels Jewelers.

Among the 15 items up for auction are:

* Custom Harley-Davidson Road Glide by Klock Werks - Donated by local Harley-Davidson dealership Destination Harley-Davidson, this jaw-dropping bike is designed by custom builder Brian Klock and his team at Klock Werks. Loaded with extras including paint by the legendary Mike Learn, Renegade wheels, controls by Performance Machine and a 180 tire conversion kit for that too-cool back end look, this machine is sure to make passersby look twice.

* Custom Old-School Hard Tail by Zacky's and Chica - This Asian-inspired old-school bike is the result of an exclusive collaboration between Keith Wong of Seattle-based Zacky's Custom Rods and the world-famous Chica of Chica Custom Cycles. With features such as a springer front end, knuckle head replica, 100 cubic inch motor and a set of custom steel wheels handmade by Chica, no detail was missed with this ride.

* African Safari Adventure - Experience private safari trips and luxurious bungalow accommodations with this five-day adventure for two at the Ezulwini Game Lodge Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, Africa.

* Hawaiian Paradise - Enjoy five nights at the Marriott Ko'Olina Beach Club on the island of Kaua'i, surrounded by breath-taking beaches and natural landscapes.

* Walla Walla Wine Country Escape - Eight people will enjoy two nights and a decadent winemaker's dinner at the historic and elegant Marcus Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla, Wash.

* Custom "Faces That Help Kids" Celebrity/Patient Mosaic Mirror - Seventeen local celebrities, artists and former Children's Hospital patients each designed original mosaic tiles that frame this one-of-a-kind mirror. Contributors include former Seattle Mariner Edgar Martinez, Mariner outfielder Raul Ibanez, local TV personality John Curley, local mosaic artist Angie Heinrich and artist Maureen Atkins, among others. Measuring 24 by 36 inches, this mirror is a truly heartfelt work of art.

* Custom Art Dresser - Nine-year-old Nicki Wehrs, a current Children's Hospital patient and budding artist, collaborated with local teaching artist Shariana Mundi to design a beautiful woodland and fairy-themed dresser. Mundi's son was once a patient at Children's Hospital, and she currently works with artists with disabilities; some of her work is currently on display at Sea-Tac Airport.

The gala and auction includes dinner, wine and entertainment. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased at http://www.childrens-ride.com or by calling (206) 987-4876. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit Children's Hospital.

"The dinner gala and auction represent a huge part of Children's Ride. Not only does it generate excitement and anticipation within the community, it is also a major fundraiser for Children's Hospital, helping it achieve its mission to provide first-rate care for all children in the region," said Rick Baldwin, who founded Children's Ride in 1995.

Now in its 13th year, Children's Ride will attract both bikers and non-motorcyclists with myriad activities over four days, June 26-29, in the greater Seattle area. The official 35-mile escorted Children's Ride takes place Sunday, June 29, where more than 1,000 bikes are expected to participate. The Ride is immediately followed by the first-ever "Rock 'N Ride for Children's Hospital" benefit concert at the White River Amphitheatre, with live performances from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Marshall Tucker Band, Foghat, Starship starring Mickey Thomas and Seattle's own Spike and the Impalers.

All event and ticket information can be found at http://www.childrens-ride.com or by calling (206) 987-4876.
