Ninja 250R for track use only
Hello everybody !
In August I bought a ninja 250 R (2008) in completly stock version & i was preparing it for track using. At first I changed oil with oil filter and replace a air filter. After that I did some needed modifications : - tyres - dunlop d213 - clip-ons - laminates - adtermarket sport footrests (with reverse gears) - new exhaust (gpr) - swingarm rollers - steel brake line (hel) - brake pads (ebs sinter) ...and this is how it looks, before mods: ..and after mods: I have to change the crash pads mounting, and I really have to mount the short rollgas (throttle control) because the stock one is really long I don't know yet how to do it, whether to use ready-made solutions (which are quite expensive) or try to do something yourself |

Thanks ! i have to do some modifications with this frame sliders. Now they have one mounting point and I think that after the first accident they can bend. I want to add an adapter for two points of mounting.

Earlier I used aprilia rs 2t on the track, there the rollgas was much shorter, but it was 2 stroke with a carburetor |

Any plans on a slip-on or full exhaust?

I installed a new exhaust last weekend, but didn't take the picture. It is slip-on from GPR exhaust system. Unfortunately i can't remove the catalyst because then I will exceed the dB limit.. You can't have more than 96 dB on tracks in Poland

Laguna Seca has 89db limit. This is how I get around it with full Tyga exhaust and straight-through muffler. Full Tyga is definitely worth it for +20-22% more power. No other bolt-on will give that much power increase.

One guy in Poland makes sport fairings for motorcykles, i bought from him. But in sport laminates , the tail on always one-piece. Unfortunatelly there is no acces to battery because the seat is glued in place of the screws

Autos also do similar mods to get under Laguna Seca's 89db limit. Noise-monitor is on right side of track between turn 5 and 6. It's an uphill section, so engines tend to be loudest there.

I may just convert mine by adding carbon-fibre middle section. To access screws I don't glue seat pad in corners above screw-holes. Or cut holes in foam before gluing to access screws later. |

I see just like in Laguna Seca. I have a slip-on with a baffle to make db limit sometimes I even short shift but it works.

I did the exact same thing on my Boxster. I found a guy with a pre-welded glass pack at the track lol. I gave him two Pilot Sports for his setup.

Ninja 250R for track use only
Hi and welcome to the forum
Apart from the aforementioned splines and plug caps I dont believe that there have been any other specific issues - I think that the reg/rec was uprated for the 700? Colin |

That looks sexy as hell! I went with the earlier R6 throttle mod and I loved it. I now have the later R6 throttle 06-09 and it’s even a shorter throw. Had to trim a little bit to make it spin freely. Haven’t tried it on the street yet, still too cold out!
The R6 throttle mod was less than 15 bucks! |

One thing i’d like is variable-radius cam. Start out at stock size and gradually increase radius as it turns.

Due to the coronavirus, the tracks are closed and all events canceled. I hope everything is back to normal, and now I will have more time for service during this period.

Engineers should be forced to work with their designs in final form. Whoever designed that oil-filter assembly should be forced to change oil at least 10x !!!
