Koso gauge problem
Hi, I just installed a koso d48 gp style rpm gauge to my eliminator 250, but the problem I'm having is it says the bike is 4k rpm at idle?
Its connected to the stator coil positive lead. I have played round with the settings but nothing fixes it, does anyone have any experience with these gauges? |

I think you want to connect to coil's trigger line coming from ignitor?
Have link to manual? Also is there #cylinders setting? 2/4/6/8? |

It says there is piston settings, but I only see a 1 2 3 4 option and the scale chart, I tried them all and 4 is only thats close to working. Its connected to yellow wire from stator like diagram shows. |

Try some other configurations. Connect brown RPM wire to one of following:
B. Please connect RPM wire (type B) to connect to ignition coil positive pole. This would be red wire on either ignition coil D. Please parallel RPM wire (type A) with original tachometer signal wire. (This method is available only when original speedometer comes with tachometer on it.) This would be black wire on left #1 ignition coil that drives factory tach. |

I Connected it to the left coil green wire and it looks accurate now?
Not sure if wiring is correct, top tab has green plastic around it with green cable plugged in and bottom has red cable plugged in? |

Yeah, that should work. Tachs usually aren't too picky, just needs some level triggers. What # cylinders did you end up using?
Technically, there's difference in how coil performs with power on top vs. bottom, but really doesn't appear to affect performance. |

Yup, about 1300-1500rpm works for idle. Better little high than too low as lower oil-pressure will chew up cams.

Just when I thought it was fixed, took it for ride for first time and now it won't go past 6k rpm?

maybe need to use #2 setting. Verify actual RPMs with factory tach.

Hmm, that's no good. Might need 1K-ohm resistor in-line to clean up signal.
