carbs cleaned, runs but only starts with starter fluid
to preface this post I bought this bike with it not being able to rev past around 5k found it had to do with a vacuum line not being hooked up on the carburetor maintenance I've done so far includes new spark plugs, oil change, and carb cleaned with adjustment to the mixture screw as well as cleaning out my gas tank, my new leads for things to check is going to be a rebuild with an all balls racing rebuild kit and replacing the fuel and vacuum lines maybe along with a new petcock the bike runs and drives great and will even start first try when warm but starting it cold requires 20 minutes of cranking and starter fluid
thoughts on things to look for or suggestions? |

I think you're saying you're planning to rebuild the carbs with a kit. You should talk to @ducatiman here before doing that. He has worked wonders with the carbs of many of us here. He knows his stuff and if you need his help, his prices are very reasonable.
These carburetors run very well stock, when truly clean and in good condition. There's no reason to rejet or otherwise try to improve them. This page may be helpful too: https://n4mwd.blogspot.com/2013/10/s...-passages.html |

IMHO "kit" parts are totally not necessary. Original jetting components can be cleaned/reused (related before/after pics provided)
