Airbox nightmare
I've searched but this is not a "I want to put pods on post"...
This is a "the bike came with no airbox at all and I need to put one back in the bike".. I got a complete airbox from ebay, cleaned it and have a new filter in it....BUT....please tell me I seriously don't have to remove the rear wheel to get it in the frame! rear plastics and mudguard i can deal with....but the wheel as well? Going to do the battery holder mod while it's out of the bike - does this make it easier to get in the frame as well? Thanks for the help.... |

You just have to drop it low by disconnecting the shock at the top. If I recall correctly. But yeah, stuff at the rear has to make way.
I don't know about the mod. I ended up just getting used to the disassembly. I'm not sure how much time it saves. |

If you do the battery box separation mod, then you can get it in without messing with the shock or rear wheel. I did that and now I can remove the carbs, etc, without all the headache.

And onto the next “issue”…
Bike would start and idle great - little lumpy but needs a run with Seafoam I think so really clean the pipes if you know what I mean BUT - today, start the bike. Pull in clutch and put it in gear…..dies So I disconnected the side stand switch…now I can pull the clutch and select first…. Slowly release clutch and dies, no matter the revs or speed I let it out Read it could still be the switch but also read something about clutch switch… Any ideas guys? |
