2000 cbr 929
Only has 5k miles, never been dropped, leather tank bra, new perelli tires front and back, and the under tail storage is like a freaking trunk. I might be picking it up for 4650, what do you think?

I take it the picture is a file photo, not the actual bike. I'm a cheap SOB so I'd shoot for $2500-$3000.

Besides the price and condition, a question that hasn't been brought up is, can you handle a bike of this size and strenght (torque and horsepower)?
What is your riding experience? This site is notorious for "rider down" threads. I'd hate to see a nice bike like this go down, I mean I'd hate to see another forum member go down. You wouldn't want to add to the crash threads.

Go for it then. You'll love the bike. Just make sure you start very low. It's winter and it's a terrible economy. I've bought bikes in the past for what I considered a give away. You can always raise your offer, you can never lower it.

I put a hold on it! I just need my bike to sell...3300 and no ones calling, or I just get scammers. My hold can last for 2 weeks so hopefully things will get rolling before then.

Its actually a dealership, they are holding the bike for a week for $100. They might do 2 weeks if I show interest in a purchase....which I am .
If the bike doesn't sell within two weeks, I'm going over there to put a 1500 deposit on it for them to hold it longer. |

also its unfortunate, they require a 90 day temp license to drive it off the lot, its required by law and its $169, so I can get the bike out the door for 4800.
Compared to other bikes I find on criags, 4400 here 4600 there for some 600cc bike but they have 15-20k miles, balding tires, etc... This bike only has 5k! Its practically new! Not to mention from a dealer... oh and thats actually a $800 full erion racing exhaust on it. Last futzed with by rustler753; February 4th, 2010 at 04:33 PM. |

You didn't haggle at all? I would NEVER paid the asking price. I always get it cheaper and/or have them throw something else in the deal.
2000 Honda CBR900RR CBR929RR Value Email February 7, 2010 4-Cylinders 4-Stroke 900cc Trade-In Value (Good Condition) $2740 2000 Honda CBR900RR CBR929RR Value Email February 7, 2010 4-Cylinders 4-Stroke 900cc Suggested Retail Value $4000 I would have started low and worked my way up. I understand it is low mileage and you really like this bike but, personally, I love money just as much as I love the objects it buyes, so I try to get as much of both as I can.\ I also don't pay extra for the extras.

I made offers, they wouldn't budge, they showed me the acquisition paperwork for the bike and they wouldn't make any money at all if they went lower.
