thank you ninjette.
I just wanted to tell you all thanks. I have been a member on another 250ninja site and they have an excellent faq. and most of them really know there bikes, but thats about it. Most of them are rude, arrogant, smart asses. It is nice to have a 250 site to go to where the people are friendly, and if something is on your mind non-motorcycle related, you can also talk about it. keep it up guys. I love this site and plan on sticking around for a while.

Yeah, they are another good reference site, but like you said, are populated by a bunch of rude, arrogant, smart asses who think they know everything and do not welcome newcomers very well. This is the place to be, you will get good friendly advice and good friendly friends here.

Never went to the other site---heard from lots of people on this site what a RPIA the other site is. This is supposed to be fun.

I'm a member of both sites, and I agree somewhat about what others have said. Their FAQ is unequaled and they have a very smart group of tech types that hang out there, but it seems that their standard answer to many common questions is to tell the asker to read the FAQ. Efficient way to answer, but scores very, very low on the friendliness scale.
Personally I find their search engine to be nearly useless as even when I know what I'm looking for I still can't find it. Their site layout, though they're very invested in it, is extremely clunky and hard to follow compared to this site's layout. If they had a good search engine and the format this site has I think they'd be the best N250 forum on the net, but alas they don't. I still get my fix from both, though. |

Darrell... I think you should change the title of your thread from "Thank you, Ninjette", to "Thank you, Alex". He's is the one responsible for the great site here and keeping the herd tended.
To the other posters in this thread, I know you are all expressing your opinions (and you have every right to do so), but maybe we should post more of the positives of this site rather than the negatives of the others? Last thing I'm sure we want to do would be to create hard feelings and problems for Alex. I know lots of members here are members of other forums. If they are comfortable with the way things are run there and you're not, leave it be and just enjoy what you have here in relative peace. Let's not be so self righteous that we will next be considering burning the Koran to express our dissatisfactions. my |

+1 to this. Alex runs a great site and has managed to keep it great. Conversations here, whether they are touchy or not, are usually discussed without getting personal and petty. Very rare on the internet.....
