Oil Changes

So after reading that everyone likes to change the oil on the 250r 6 times in the first 1000 miles. Do you folks treat your cars and the trucks to the same? Changing motor/trans/diff and power streering fluid all the time>>?

I was looking the the Dodge ram manual, in 120,000 miles it never mention's changing the trans fluid(does for the 4x4 @ 80,000). Thats just freaking crazy, i like doing the trans around 30,000-35,000. Seems to me thats about what you would get from a trans, is around 120,000 before it starts screwing up without changing fluid. I know from seeing it, you change the trans fluid after not doing it for a long time....... trans will take a dump for sure.

Anyway, just wondering

I'm not very anal about changing fluids. I try to change the oil every 5k on my car, but sometimes I let it go to 7 or 8k. I change the oil on the ninjette every 4k.

On my car I wait until stuff breaks before I spend any money on it.

I'm more anal with my automobiles than I am with my bikes. Only because I drive the automobiles more often than I ride my bikes.

I changed my bike oil twice on the way home from the dealer to my house (18) miles. At 6 miles I did dino oil, at 12 miles syn, and when I got home I split the cases to get every drop of oil out. 100 miles and bike is as tight as it was when it had 1 mile on it.
My car was 20 miles away and I changed it halfway home.

I have oil reports from Blackstone that are telling me that I"m changing my oil too damn early....in my bike and my car. I typically change oil at 5000 kms, but I'm using high end full synth. I guess I'll be extending my intervals to 7000 kms

I changed my oil at 100, 500 and 1000 on my Jeep then every 3000 miles.

My grand am gets neglected a lot.

My bike got changed at 600 and 1000. Now it gets changed every 2000-3000 depending on how the oil looks and how long it took me to get there.

I can see that in the dirt with the price of a rebuild on the 4 stroke dirt bikes.
