Turn Signal Buzzer
I have found that at times, I forget to cancel my turn signals. Obviously, that can create a potentially dangerous situation since the motorist near you will assume you are going left or right when you are really going straight.
Has anyone on this forum installed a buzzer which would sound when a turn signal is engaged? It would seem like a fairly easy mod--finding a buzzer at Radio Shack, etc. I don't think it would be illegal--certainly it would be practical. I already know the answer as to why the original manufacturer does not put one in. Cost. Another question--Why don't we have Hazard Lights (that's when all four turn signals flash all at once) I have only seen such a switch on one bike--an older Honda VFR. My new Honda NT-700, which is a sport touring bike does not have such a switch.

Good question about the hazard lights, but Id imagine cost wasn't as much of an issue as that it would be annoying as hell :P . Imagine sitting at a longer light, listening to your bike buzz for several minutes while you wait :P .
It seems like most people just develop a habit to periodically hit the cancel button. I have more recently started canceling the switch just as I am starting my lean, if not before.

My '07 650R has 4-way flashers... kind of annoying that the newer 250 was designed without them. Cost considerations, I'm sure.
As far as a turnsignal buzzer... I could use it (might save my life, as a matter of fact.)... If only it would start buzzing after maybe 20 to 30 seconds of delay. Easy to wire, if we had vintage flasher relays, but I'm sure the new bikes are sloid state, etc. |

A few bikes back I tried using Radio Shack76dB Piezo Buzzers, wired to the turn signals, they where not loud enough, once you got out of the driveway the where useless, forget it if you use earplugs, any buzzer that would work would also drive others around you crazy.
I have had better luck putting led's in my line of sight, like the ones on my GS500F:

Stevo, What a great solution! I knew, like everybody else on this forum knows, that when one asks a question, the answer invariably is there almost instantly. What an outstanding group we have here!

Thanks!
Here, you might as well know where I bought the Led's then, they come pre-wired so all you have to do is hook them up. http://www.oznium.com/prewired-leds

Another option is self cancelling signals. I can't remember where I saw them off hand but it's available as a module for all bikes.

Well, not sure how your new NT is wired up, but I played around with making hazard flashers for my ninjette a while back, with some success. Decided to pass though, as I pretty much never use hazard flashers anyway and it's easy enough to rig up in a pinch if I need 'em.
