Silly question about jetting

I am in the amidst of doing my Factory Pro Stage 3 jet kit install. I wanted to follow some of the fellow ninjettes database as a starting ground. When the needle clip position is mentioned as 4, is that the second from the top of the needle or fourth from the top?

I believe its the fourth from the top, but just want to verify.

Also, all my main jets were engraved with "FACTORY" indicating they are Factory Pro Jets except one. One of my 110's did not have that, and was a different colour brass from the rest. Should I worry about this jet not being an authentic Factory Pro jet or just install it?

I believe the FP tuning guide says to count from the top. Does the jet still say 110 on it? If so, I wouldnt worry too much about it but you might call and ask if you are concerned.

clip positions are counted from the blunt end of the needles. The first, closest to the blunt end, is #1.

Ah yes I should have clarified. The "top" would be in reference to how the needle will sit in the carb when all mounted.
