Comfort. How important is it to you and what have you done to make it better?
Another curiosity thread. What's your body structure... approximate weight and height and what you have done solely to make your ride more comfortable.
I'm 6ft and approx 175lbs. I've added Tank grips to prevent gibblet crushing, gel grips to reduce vibrations, and grip warmers to keep hands toasty and flexible. Will be reshaping my seat in the near future and most likely some passenger footpegs in the front. So what have you done and/or what do you plan on doing to increase your comfort. |

I'm 5'9'' and weigh about 130 pounds.
Only thing I have done to change my position was installed clip on's. Here soon, I will be ordering some rear set adjusters to change the position of my feet. The stock seat doesn't bother me all that much, but I will most likely replace it this comming summer.

Grip cushions and warmers. The seat for me is good for about two hours of straight riding but I gotta get some rear set adjusters to move my legs down and back. |

Stock bike. Want a new seat, just too cheap to upgrade.

I reshaped my seat and added some foam. Trying to get some levers to make my hands more comfortable and maybe some gel grips. Everything else seems fine though I wonder if getting clip ons will make me a bit more comfortable when tucked since I can't tuck in very comfortably. Also for ease of mind mirror extenders. I hate not being able to see behind myself easily.

5'9". 165lbs.
Double bubble for less wind hitting my chest/neck. Gel grips, risers and heavy throttlemeister for less buzz and higher bar height. Soon to be modding stock seat for less lean and better shape. |

I have a zg db and rearset adjusters. The seat is fine with me and the bike came with tank grips so I don't know how much different it is without them. |

5-11 and 160-170, average torso and limb length. On my '06 everything is stock except for the grips which are now foamies. Oh so much better at isolating hi-freq vibrations than any of the gel grips I've tried. In fact, the vibrations are just gone. Other than that I have a Corbin that I only use for long trips (longest single-day to date at 824 miles). The stock saddle is good to about 250 miles painwise, about 100 miles with no pain. I've done no other mods aside from changing the color.

5'8" and about 160. I actually started on SS's so prefer the aggressive ergos. Bike came with rearset adjusters and I added woodcraft clipons, gel grips and a Corbin. I want to get levers since I have small hands and preload adjusters (more for looks I guess since my fork caps are pretty scratched up from changing the seals).

Ya I find the aggressive position of the SS bikes serve me better as well. I'm 5'-10" and 240lbs...not exactly in the 95th percentile. The leaned forward seating position takes the weight off my lower back and butt and puts it into my legs where most of my strength is.
Also the wind protection is nice. |

Did all the mods for a small person(wife).
Adjustable levers, grips, bar ends. DB wind screen, corbin seat, gilles pegs and did a little reshaping of the gear shift lever. All good mods for a larger person(iam 6'1). Kinda fun shifting/braking with the levers a 1/2 from the grips |

I haven't done any comfort mods as I currently feel that my Ninjette is comfortable stock.

I'm roughly 6' 3", around 235-240lbs. Let's just say an aftermarket windscreen is my friend . I feel like I get pushed around from the wind with an oem windscreen because it hits me square in the chest but with the dbl bubble it lowers my rpm's because everyone knows that an oem windscreen is a lot more aerodynamic than my fat ass. Since I'm so tall, my legs get a lil uncomfortable now and then, but thats mostly from the surgery I had on my knee. To fix that I just stretch my legs out next time I stop. I was surprised that the lil ninja is so comfortable considering my height.

6’2” – 180lbs
Completely stock bike so far and I can go for ~3 hours without any discomfort, though legs can feel a bit cramped at times. Will do some break/shift pedal adjustments (as shown in one of spoooph’s vids) and possibly install a DB wind screen in spring. Perhaps there will be more mods once I get some more miles on the bike =)

Thanks,
Guess that’s the way it goes, you get to know your bike bit by bit and start improving the areas you’re not 100% satisfied with. Though I’m hoping to get by with rather cheap or cost effective mods until I gain a bit more confidence as a rider (still waiting for that first drop everybody experiences...)

Not everybody experiences the first drop. I am 5'10 and weigh 195. The stock Ninja is a very comfortable bike. I did put a ZG Touring Windshield on, bought a Corbin seat, got slikdesignsusa.com telescoping mirrors, changed to a 15T sprocket, and got brighter lights. I can do 500mi but am really tired after that.

Reminds me of a helmet I saw a while back that had an integrated rear-view periscope thingy. Interesting idea.

6' @ 185lbs...beyond sore wrists for the first week...ergo's never an issue.
Bought this gigantic windshield...1 of a kind. Sprocket swap...caulked a little clock onto my EZ Pass...caulked them both behind the windshield...co-mag headlight and brakwelight modulators. No plans for anything else. |

Corbin seat, foam grip covers, puig screen, pazzo levers. Thinking about rearsets. All in all pretty comfortable now.

yeah I saw that on a webbikeworld.com review. I just need something to help me see behind myself without having to turn around all the way or moving my elbows around at stop lights and stuff. Didn't you get mirror extenders?

I did, and really like them.... I just didn't consider it a "comfort" item. I'd call it more of a functional item.
