The raw material price for upside down fork + dual caliper + triple clam will be around US$ 850-1000, depend on the year & condition.

I'll second what Slolane said... that's a hot looking bike, I would have gotten the white version, but the dealer said they were sold out for the year.... so I went with the black version instead.

Hmmm. Interesting.
I was wondering if a RS125 swingarm would fit on the 250r. The 125 runs with a 150 60/17 on the back stock, so it would be ideal for the 250r. It would be much better than the stock swingarm the 250r comes with...better torsional rigidity, better chain adjusters, easier for track tire changes, wider for more tire options, and probably shave off quite a few lbs too. |

pregens were/are not availble here in indo, they were not imported/sold due to the high import taxes.
however, it seems like kawasaki have been able to pull some strings to get these new ninja 250s in without the insane taxes that other imported bikes usually still get. thus the big following that it has had over here ps, due to the falling dollar, and the reasonably strong rupees, they cost more now when counting in USD compared to when they first came out. its like over 6 grand for a new bike now, while a couple years ago, it was around 5 grand. mainly due to the changing exchange rates...

In Indonesia, the dealer is very flexible, with additional US$400 we can order any color that we want. And the bike will be registered with the color that we order

OP, did you make careful measurements about the weight of the motorcycle before and after the modifications to the wheels, shocks, and the swingarm? I think the motorcycle appearance has been enhanced, however the increased tire wheel size and different shocks has me wondering whether there is an increase in weight of the project bike.

@ducducgooseit:
even though the swing-arm looks bigger, i would not be surprised if it actually weighs less. ive picked up a yamha R6 swing-arm which is even bigger i think, and it it was really light...! as far as the riding geometry goes, it probably changes it by quite a bit, usually more aggressive/lower (yey... back pains, lol) keep in mind, that these mods are usually intended more for the look than the "performance" although quite often i would imagine you would benefit from the higher grade shox and brakes if its assembled properly. oh ya, depending on the wheels, they can also be quite a weight saver. i wouldn't be surprised if the aprillia rims weigh less than the original ninja rims, seeing that the RS250 is really performance oriented.

Nothing were changed on the original NINJA frame, no cutting, no grinding. Cut a little bit on the Aprilia swing-arm axis, 3mm (1,5mm on each side) and it will perfectly fit into NINJA frame. Maintain the original NINJA rear-shock but we have to make a new longer links. Use both original Aprilia triple clam but maintain the original NINJA steering hub. Thats all ...

Aftermarket parts, very easy to find them in our country.
The undertail is made from fibre-glass, price: US$75; The plate mounts is made from powder coated metal, price: US$15

instead of importing 2nd hand parts from America into Indo, you need to export mechanics that can do this kind of work TO the states, haha... i think maybe you can make more money
they are lacking affordable modders over there, lol well... if only that were possible, huh...

Is the undertail custom made, or is it mass produced? I have a few friends in Indonesia, and if I can give them the place where they can buy the part, Ill have them ship it to me in the states.

One more thing... can you post up a picture of the undertail by itself so I can email it to my friends for reference, or a part number and manufacture? Thanks again for your help.
