tinypic.com and jumbo frames

I've always had issues viewing pics from tinypic.com. I thought it was a comcast problem, then just a comcast california problem. But it turns out it was a configuration problem. tinypic.com fails when a user is configured for jumbo frames on their ethernet card. I have it set that way for somewhat better performance for large files between my PC's and our NAS box. I had no idea that that setting would traverse the router and make a difference on what internet sites would see. I was skeptical, but immediately after disabling jumbo frames, all of the tinypic.com pics started working immediately. (like in the Elena Myers thread, 2nd post). So - if anyone is having trouble seeing tinypic.com images, or having other image trouble in general, consider disabling jumbo frames if only for troubleshooting purposes.

I just realized tinypic images weren't showing and remembered this thread. Jumbo frames are disabled in my nic settings. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm not sure, that was all it took for me. In my NIC settings, I had Jumbo frames enabled (length 9014, I believe). Once I disabled Jumbo frames, it immediately started to work. Try a tracert to www.tinypic.com. If it eventually reaches without error, yet you can't see any pics, work on the packet size to see what the issue may be on their web server itself in its response to your request. If tracert doesn't work at all, then it may be a routing issue, a firewall issue, a proxy issue, etc.

Yeah I can view tinypic.com in my browser, just not images hosted there.
