Streets of Willow Springs... backwards
Hey, I was told that this months WSMC race will be at Streets, backwards. This should be a fun challenge.
The weather forecast looks like rain too; has anyone ridden this in the rain? I'm assuming that people still use their dot tires and not rain tires, is this true? |

It rarely rains at Willow, even when the forecast calls for rain... only 3 race weekends in 8 years that I can remember. Your dots will be fine. Just have fun and keep it upright.

I still haven't gotten to try out Streets backwards, but I've heard somewhat mixed reviews. I've blown the skid pad more times than I care to admit coming off of the moderately slow chicane though, so not sure how I'd feel about trying to gauge that thing coming off the front straight
I'll be looking forward to the race report on how you like it |

Thanks Richard, the forecast has already changed. I was actually looking forward to racing in the rain, although it would be different than a good mud moto.
I've been looking at the map and interpreting how Streets will be ccw. The first turn being the skid pad will be weird, as well as the bowl being more of a funnel into that decreasing radius left turn. What turns get a lot of crashes during race weekend? |

This track was a total blast on the Ninjette!!! I never did feel real comfortable going through the bowl, and I even went off he track at the bowl during one of the races.
It is a shame that WSMC will not offer any "Streets" races next year... Chuckawalla here we come, at least the 250 grids are fuller there. |
