installed my "the2wheels" adjustable green shorty levers I got in the mail today. The green is way off but still looks better than the stock ones and the short levers are great. I was surprised it took exactly 14 days to get to my door.

Went a nice fall ride at sunset. A little chilly, but the scenery makes up for it.

The video embedding worked. Are you talking about tank grips or hand grips?
I don't think I'll be installing my Driven clip-one anytime soon. It looks like I need tires soon. Probably by Mid next month. I may sell the clip-ons so I can get tires. I cleaned my chain this morning before I left for work. I may need to tighten up my chain some.

but ya, a well tuned bike with a full exhaust, can get up to around 30~32hp so against those, my bike is ahead by about 5~6hp, hehe my bike is lighter too~ no full farings up front, so the power to weight ratio on my bike is quite good. when i finally fix up my naked bike farings, ill weigh my bike to see what the end result is. theoretically i should be able to beat most bikes in a straight line, but i need to find me a fellow ninja rider and an empty road to test it out oh, and a couple hundred more miles on the engine to break it in first, before i go drag racing, lol

Couldn't ride today due to wife's work schedule. |

I had a little issue today, where the hooks on my cargo net was loose on the bike hook. I tried different method to make sure that it wouldn't come loose while riding. So when I got home, I drilled holes in the bike hooks so that my cargo hooks could actually hook thru them.

Replaced 10 year old Dunlop front tire with Bridgestone BT-45. First time changing my own tire. It took a lot longer than Youtube
Much improved handling, rain grooves and road imperfections are no longer pucker inducing, and the bike now goes where I want it to go instead of me guessing at where it wants to go. |

I remember that feeling! It felt good to lean without worrying if the tire would hold up.

I was heading home towards Houston from The Lone Star Rally and midway of the trip my Ninja started acting up. It was sputtering under throttle but idle fine with no load and clutch in. Also the tach was jumping all over the place. I hit traffic on the highway so pulled over on the left shoulder and turned it off. Tried to turn it back on, nothing no power. Luckily, the Ninja was equipped with the stock tools. I found out that the negative lead on the battery had come undone. I guess all the rattling and harmonics of the engine backed the bolt off the negative wire to the terminal. A lady in a car asked if I was okay and I gave her a thumbs up and she continued on in the stop and go traffic. A cruiser pulled up behind me and asked if I was okay and I told him the situation. He stayed until I got everything buttoned up while giving me light to work with since it was dark.
Big props goes out to the nice lady asking if I was okay and SUPER Propers Bobby, the guy on the cruiser, for stopping to assist

Odometer turned over 10,000 mi., I didn't even notice as it approaches..
Now at 10,062 mi. still runs like a champ, OEM chain/sprocket/tires on a 2004 model. |

They also turn in quickly, grip like it's their job (no pun intended), and feel much more comfortable at lean.

Valve adjustment and oil change over the weekend. Feels a lot better now. Wonder how much of the effect was real vs placebo.
Bike still sometimes dies when I come off the gas (stopping for a redlight for example) unless I set the static idle to around 2k. Not sure what the deal is. |
