Cheap Audio Mixer
Belkin Rockstar
I found this while looking for a headphone adapter. It seems like it may be a cheap easy way to listen to the commands from my GPS and ipod at the same time. You can have up to 5 inputs at the same time. The only downside is volume is controlled on each individual device, but if you found the right mix and then controlled final volume on your headphones it would work almost perfectly. I just bought it for $13.35 on Amazon, and will let you know how it works once I get it. |

Got it and it works exactly as advertised. Hooked up my ipod and Garmin to it and could hear both loud and clear, although my Garmin is only mono so I only heard that from the left ear. I'm going to be making my own cables to connect everything (and hopefully get the Garmin in both ears) and run everything into my tank bag. Hopefully have it done next week. I'll post up some pictures once I have it all figured out.
I didn't ride with it yet, just tested it while sitting in my garage. I did start the engine though to make sure there wasn't any interference from the ignition, and there was none. |

Used it this weekend for nearly 500 miles of riding and worked great. I do have a problem with the audio from my Garmin 2720. The volume fluctuates and some times skips and cracks. Don't know if this is related as I have never used it without the Belkin. May be some noise interference from bike electronics?

I use the skull candy ink'd phones, but am looking into getting helmet speakers and using ear plugs.
Maybe I'll make a ride report, but it wasn't that exciting. The road was pretty nice though so maybe I will post something up. |
