Helmet
I want to get a helmet before I go check out 2 more bikes this weekend for several reasons. The main reason is sooner or later I will have to get one anyway. 2nd, I want to test ride the bikes when I go check them out. 3rd, if everything look and sound good i'll need a helmet to ride it home.
Any suggestion as to what brand. or links? I'm looking to spend $200 or less Thanks, Tin |

Go to your nearest accesories store and try them on.
The best one is what fits your head. That said, I tried Fulmer SS couple weeks ago and I like it! As comfortable as my Shoei. I think they are about $170.

+1 for trying them on. The one that fits your melon the best is the one for you, regardless of the brand. I wouldn't buy a helmet online unless I was going to buy the same make/model.

I'm assuming you're a new rider, so don't expect a test ride. Most dealerships won't allow you to if you don't have any miles under your belt. The MSF BRC is the best place to get some riding experience, and you'll get a feel for the bikes and what you're looking for when you sit on one in a dealership. I wouldn't buy one online personally because I've known guys that load the trucks at UPS... If the helmet gets knocked around too much in transit, it may not be in good enough shape to protect you when you need it. |

Ask the sales associate to remove the pads if possible so you can feel the "dome fit" around the top of your head. Feels like a baseball cap...
You want it snug enough to move your forehead skin but not make your head ache. then put the pads in and check that fit. Tight on the cheeks but open and close your mouth. You do not want to be biting the sides of your mouth. Some helmets offer different sized cheek pads.

Thanks all.
I'll stop by some dealers after work. I've already taken the MSF course. i'm not getting an 09. The 2 bikes i will go check out are from private sellers. both are 08. 1 green 1 black. |

If it comes off from pushing and lifting at the rear while straped on...then its the wrong size.

Try concentrate more on the fit rather than the size.
