I find it pretty illogical to compare carrying a gun to wearing a helmet and a seatbelt lol. First, being involved in an accident on a motorcycle is not highly unlikely, and you should be the first one to know it Jiggles
Second, in what hell of an even would you need to life threaten someone or pop a bullet at him to defend yourself? I would understand to have one in your house to protect your familly incase something happens, but carrying one everywhere at anytime would be overkill... If you really feel the need to have a weapon to protect yourself why not bring pepper spray? It's more practical and is probably more then you'll ever need lol |

I carry while riding, but not with the thought/intent of using said weapon while riding, damn near impossible, imo. But it will be there when I have arrived at my location and make a decision to refuse to be a helpless victim.
I do a lot of stupid things, carrying a gun and riding a bike are just a couple of them. P.S. TN uses an HCP written so vaguely as to not restrict one to carry open or concealed. You may carry whicherver way you like in TN so long as you have the HCP. |

Totally gun ignorant, but yesterday, during a group ride, a couple of riding buddies who I wasn't aware carried guns, wanted to see if the space underneath the seat/cowl of our 250s could accommodate guns...so I popped open my cowl, took the tool bag out, and (not sure about the make/model) but a 9mm fit easily while a 40 couldn't...opened my eyes about how many people carried guns though (3 out of 8 people in our ride)

Police arm themselves with it because their job is to counter criminality. They have guns to protect against other people with guns. If no one had a gun, no one would need any, ever thought about that? |

i have, its not like the movies where the guy immediately falls to the ground. the person will feel pain and lose some vision but he still has full strength and is still dangerous. what about multiple people? trying to pepper spray two or more people is fail. you will get your ass kicked or killed. police arm themselves with guns because its effective. has nothing to do with stopping crime since police are not legally required to intervene here. if there was something more deadly they would use it, and so would i. people were killing and robbing each other way before guns were invented. the good thing about a gun is it puts a 100lb female on an equal footing to a 250lb man. the female does not have to be a victim, she is an equal. I'd like to get me a western rig and open carry my Uberti saa. Thing would be a mother to conceal it but then I could get a shoulder holster and carry like Doc Holliday.

We may not be free in your eyes, but we do not have to walk our streets carrying a gun to feel safe. (And the last time someone tried to invade us we burnt down their White House )

Only good hockey riots are in Montreal,
Vancouver's think it was a riot, but it was not. It was just a small area of downtown. Montreal's was 10 miles of St. Catherine street.

We have crime, there was a gang related shoot last week one town over from me.
The founder of a major drug gang was killed, tied up with thee Mexican drug wars. But it was a targeted hit, well carried out.

We don't carry fire arms.
The only person I know that has a carry permit, that is not work related, is an Ex Cop with a contract on his life. Even ex/retired cops can not get a carry permit without a reason ^ Other than that you can get a permit to carry a handgun to and from the range.

A better question for you is have you ever got sprayed with pepper spray, OC spray, CS gas or any of the similar ones? I have. it stings a bit & actually pisses you off more, if as you suggest nobody has a gun, the guy who wants to rob you will either have a knife, a syringe full of blood or possibly a bat, any of these will still fcuk you up quickly(even quicker if you've recently aggravated the attacker. BTW pepper spray has a nasty habit of blowing/splashing back at you. (do you wear contacts... if so don't even think of pepper spray) I'm in 2 minds as to how effective concealed carry is, I used to open carry (a Steyr AUG mostly, that tends to prove a point) & always had it to hand, a pistol in a leg holster is accessible enough but one inside a jacket will take a couple of seconds to get a clean draw & have it on target, if the other guy has a gun he'll probably have it ready to go. If you really must use something other than guns then from my experience a bang of a tazer is better than pepper spray (I've been on both ends of both) and an ASP baton can prove a point too, just hope you don't come up against someone with a gun or a syringe |

the tazer is okay but against multiple assailants the gun is whats needed.
