$20 temp gauge
I was bummed that Kawi replaced the temp gauge with a fuel gauge for the new gens and was about to buy a Koso unit. After searching a bit I found this unit instead.
Temp Gauge It actually has two channels so I bought a second temp probe so I could display both oil and water temps. Probe Drilled an extra oil plug and put it in place of the pre gen drain plug. A 1/8 brass plug fits well in place of the stock over temp sensor. After drilling the plugs, I glued in the probes with hi-temp epoxy. Here is a shot of the gauge itself. You can set a couple of dip switches on the back to display the oil or the water temp or you can alternate between the two every 5 seconds or so. There is a light sensor on the face of the gauge so you can also switch between the two sensors by shining a flashlight on the display. We will see how well it holds up but the quality looks better than your standard Chinese fare. For less than $20 I took a chance.

Very cool mod. How does it switch between coolant and oil temps? And is the entire unit self contained or does it run off of your 12v on yOur bike?

You can also manually switch from one to the other with a flashlight. There is light sensor just above the display and if you shine the light for a few seconds you can go from one to the other. Its 12V wired to the ignition.
