I thought the n64 was their biggest hit? There are so many classics on that game, it's ridiculous

I still have mine and I go back and play it every now and then

I need to do some thread cleanup to come up with one legitimate "2013 ninjette" thread. No time here at work, but might be able to tonight.

With the new FI system, the engine may take higher compression ratio, and even higher if it equipped with knocking sensor, which means more power with less fuel. And from the FI cutout, I think they redesign the porting too.

The bike will need a power commander to take full advantage of the efi

Nope. It had a lot of great games, but Pokemon is what kept them profitable in that generation. The NES and SNES each sold FAR more and it was the first generation that they solidly lost to their closest competitor (Sony with the PSone). The SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive sold more than the SNES but was less profitable for SEGA than the SNES was for Nintendo. The N64 was profitable, but not nearly the same scale. There was an NES in one out of every three American family homes at the height of it's popularity and only Sony came close in the N64's generation. FWIW, I have three and I play all the time. My twin brother and our friends still hold Mario Kart 64 tournaments a couple times a month.

I never knew how well it did compared to nintendo's past consoles, I just always assumed that the n64 was on top because of all the great games it kept churning out lol

To keep things on topic- If Indonesia is getting this bike sometime in October, could we also assume that we're getting it sometime this year? Because if we are, I'm going to take up a second job

I propose that we start referring to them as 1G, 2G, and 3G.

1G being the formerly known pre-gens
2G being 2008-2012 models
3G being 2013 till whenever they redesign again.

there's 4g's in the us. More worldwide. Lets just use a letter designation so there's not confusion. H, f, j/k, or new for example.

Farkles

Looks like the seat cowl fits the bike better...certainly it could only get better!!! On the topic of farkles, anyone have any idea how long it usually takes before aftermarket parts are available for a newly redesigned bike??? Doesn't look like my integrated tail light would fit on this baby and the stock fender would have to go.

This link will get you to their parts search page:

http://www.kawasaki-motors.com/for_u.../PCSearch.html

The first choice is model, second line is from what year to what. Or you can search using frame number at the second arrow. (May not work for non-Japanese models)

Or if you are looking for their official accessories then:

http://www.kawasaki-motors.com/model...250r/parts.jsp

If you use Firefox and have a need to look at Japanese sites - I highly recommend the add-on called Rikaichan. It will translate the Japanese for you one word or phrase at a time, making it easier to search around simple Japanese pages. (Not recommended for full text translation.)

Back on Topic:

I like the angular look of the new fairings but do think they should have kept the side covered a bit more. It will be interesting to see what options they send to The States.

The way that they sweep the exhaust down to the left then under the engine is interesting. I guess since the fairings don't go so far back on the underside (as shown in this pic) it alleviates the clearance problem. It also allows them to sharpen the front of the fairings to a more aerodynamic point. Surely an improvement related to the heat coming up out of the fairings but wouldn't the twists in the exhaust constrict airflow a bit more than necessary? It's gonna be really interesting to see what the after-market exhaust manufacturers do with the reduced clearance on the sides of the fairings and all that open space underneath. I think I'm gonna like it

Looking at the engine pictures the oil pan slopes off to the right side creating the lowest point for drainage. The curves in the exhaust move around the pan.

The curves may be restrictive a bit but also possibly maintain the correct amount of back pressure for the engine.

Not sure what you mean? Are you saying that the new model will allow you to run w/ the side stand down while the bike is in gear? That doesn't sound right

And not sure what that has to do with accommodating small riders?

the engine kill switch in the side stand is meant for noobs that forget to to retract it when they launch the bike..

Tho I like it there, just for convenience sake. I am curious about the performance. Rumor it has more powerful engine.. like 2 - 3 hp more at the top end compared to the last gen.

I know2, most people here dont care whether it is faster than snail, but I do

are the ergo's about the same as the 08-12 model? Handlebar position, footpeg position, etc

What size are the tires? 110 and 140?

It would look sick with switchback LED's in the marker lights and the turn signals, and a single bixenon projector in the low beam (with the oem reflector blacked out on the same side.

That bike is very wide! Wow.

From the tmcblog:

- Daya maksimum: 23,5 kW (32 PS) / 11.000 rpm
- Torsi maksimum: 21,0 Nm / 10.000 rpm

That equates to a bit over 31.5 horsepower and a bit under 15.5 ft. lbs.

So yeah, a tad beefier than the current bike. With normal losses at the rear wheel, power might turn out a bit lower compared to a current bike with a full exhaust, jet kit, etc.

Stock this is going to kill the CBR for those who want a bit more performance. The CBR is already down on power compared to the 08-12 Ninjette. I'm sure that once the aftermarket catches up with the new bike things will get very interesting.

I'm also interested in the ergos and want to see if the fairings can accommodate clip-ons (and whether or not we still have 37mm forks). That's months away, of course….

So far I'm really liking it. Would have liked to see a gear indicator and suspension adjustability, but whatever. It is what it is.
