Have the SP-8's. They're a step down I think (maybe a step-up?). So, they're great gloves...so I'd imagine if these are of lower level...then those would be great. They're comfortable, protective (hit my wrist on a cinder block (went down on my dirt bike)). My hand didn't even bruise, and left it with not even a scratch on the leather. The knuckle protection is amazing. As soon as I put them on, I wanted to hit someone because I wouldn't feel the pain lol! Overall great gloves... but take into consideration, I'm reviewing the SP-8's...not 1's...so this may actually not help at all haha

Edit: Looked up the SP-1's. Looks like they're even better than I thought they would be. Have much more protection. The SP-8 has just thick leather on the forearm, and wrist area. Looks like the SP-1 has either thick plastic or really thick leather. It also has carbon fiber knuckles (or maybe it's fake carbon, either way, awesome lol). It looks like they're for the more aggressive rider. Maybe even for track days (but I'd recommend the GP gloves for that). The SP-8's seem to be made for a casual street rider who occasionally leans too far, and low sides...so he needs the gauntlets

Buy the gloves that would suit your purpose best.

Cheers.

I looked at the construction of the glove and it seemed pretty good and the price OMG, just couldn't get any better than that for a nice quality glove. I know there are some good and bad with each brand, just wanted to make sure I was getting something good and not one that would fall apart IF I need them to protect me. Thanks for your input Bob2010 and Nickjpass, I really appreciate it.

The only bad thing I can think of is the price. But since it's so low on Iron Pony (where I bought mine) there really aren't any drawbacks.

I know what you mean, but I want to find a good glove and they looked pretty good from the description and being half off, that's 2 good things about them.
I think I am going to get them before they are gone.

I had the SP-1's as my first ever glove, in fact they protected me very well in a 40mph lowside. They look good and you can't beat Iron Pony's super low prices.

That makes me feel better, not that you had a lowside, but that they protected you. Thanks for your input NDspd, I appreciate it.

I use SP-1's as well, and bought the AYC from Iron Pony. I found them to be tight when first bought but broke in beautifully.

Haven't had the opportunity to test how well they hold up after a crash.

I was wondering how their sizes run, good to know they "break-in" good, thanks LoD575

I found the size to be true. Every set of gloves I wear are medium and the SP-1's are no different.

Revzilla has a sizing guide listed.

I rcd my SP-1's and had the opportunity to wear them a few times and love them -- they seem to be constructed pretty good and get better (not as stiff) with every wear, I am pleased with my purchase and want to thank everyone for their input.
