exhaust
I have an 04 250 ninja and I would like to change out the standard exhaust. I know my bike will never be super loud or anything like that. I am just looking for a little better sound. I dont want to sound like my dad's weed wacker per say. Do you guys suggest anything that you find you have liked or is better than something else. Any input would be great. Thanks!!!

About the only full system I know of for your bike is the Muzzy system. Slip-ons are for squids. Unless you can find one used and unless you're going racing I really wouldn't be able to justify the price for a full system on a Ninja 250. It will be more obnoxious and you will see little to no gain in power.

If your exhaust system is black and in good shape I'd willing to buy it off you if the price was right :O
@dirty nasty is correct, it's not worth getting slip ons. They just make your bike sound like it's farting. for 40 dollars more than the dual brother's slip on you can get a fully muzzy system on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Muzzys-R...f07052&vxp=mtr Although, it is considerably (at least in my view) uglier than the dual can set up. |

Full Muzzy systems rock!!
on a side note, it's a parallel twin. It will always be a parallel twin. No matter what you do with the exhaust, nothing is going to change the fact that the engine is a parallel twin and sounds like a lawn mower when under 5k. Also, intake noise sounds way throatier than constant exhaust farting, especially if you're just going for throatier sound and not a loud bike. I suggest modding the intake lid or ditching the airbox for a K&N pod filter if that is the route you would like to take. Both are much less annoying than an exhaust while cruising, but sound better when you tap into the throttle and load the engine. Slipons for this bike are all really loud and don't do much. A Muzzy makes a difference in performance, but is definitely louder than stock without being nearly as obnoxious as the slipons. The muzzy sounds fantastic though; very throaty and low at idle, but still rips up top. If you can afford the Muzzy and a rejet, go for it; I like mine a lot. |
