Installed the hot bodies racing undertail. Did my bike first. Not as much fun as I thought. Too much messing around trying to fix gaps.
Now today I'll start the other bike

Lowsided at the track after losing the front. I have a video too. Broke my Sport Touring windscreen and right rearset. Will need to find a new stock rear set and try gluing my windscreen back together.

Have been talking to Scott and his hugger came in today. immediately went out and installed it. Aaaand installed sexy red rim tape from KrazyGraphics terrible pic, but it'll work. |

Took my first commute with my Woodcraft clip-ons. After installing them and sitting on the bike I thought "meh, this isn't that big of a difference" and my mind immediately changed after riding in them. I had burning abs/core after my commute but liked them.
I also tried clutchless upshifting and got a lot better after learning that I wasn't preloading the shifter in my previous attempts. Got my results back from Blackstone and everything looked okay, will do another sample after 3k miles on Rotella T6. |

Got it back from a new mechanic recommended to me by a friend. After months of attempts at fixing it with a friend, he finally got it to run and it finally ****ing ran.

Gave my bike for servicing yesterday and had them do a few additional jobs along with it. The main one being airbox removal. For a princely sum of 9$ labor, they pulled out my stock air box and fitted my k&n 0990 air filter on to it. If I thought my bike was loud before, it's nothing compared to what it is now. Definitely feels much better in the top end. I still need to buy an "AutoTune" system for it, but the lack of it wasn't too much of a problem, I think. How do I know if my bike is running lean? I was looking out for the popping noise on deceleration, but there wasn't any.
The service center also said they'd paint my bike any color I wanted for not too much money, any suggestions? I was thinking matte silver or white... hmm... Also rode my ninjette like an absolute jackass today, after picking her up. Got into a race with an Audi A6 3.0tdi... Didn't win, but had a ton of fun chasing him... Lol it started quiet randomly, I pulled up next to him at the stop sign and was on the extreme right right next to the divider. I pulled ahead when the signal turned green to make it before him, guess he took it as a challenge... Lol the rest, as they say is history. Must have touched 90mph before chickening out... Made helmet holders for my pre-gen. Now instead of using the factory helmet lock which melts your helmet on the muffler I can store two helmets on my bike and not have to worry about them melting or being stolen as the thief would have to tear my seat off to get them.
Still waiting on my wheels to get back from the shop, wrapped in fresh MT75's. This dude is taking much longer than he said to change 'em and I missed out on riding during the long weekend. |

Put an Area P 18" race can on it yesterday.
Took it for a quick test ride around the neighborhood and did a freeway pull on the same jetting with the stock exhaust. Seemed to pull relatively the same but after 8k RPM I could definitely feel a difference as it pulled all the way to red compared to the stock exhaust which seemed to trail off at 10k RPM and after. Not sure if my needles need adjusting but I felt a slight sluggishness from around 3-7k before I could feel a noticeable pull afterwards. Fully warmed up, the bike idled exactly the same as with the stock exhaust. I'll be fiddling around with my idle mixture screws and see what main jets I have and where the needles are currently set. After that I'll probably do a plug check as I think the jetting with the stock exhaust was pretty dead on from when I pulled the previous plugs. |

Took a dremel to that hideous pices of plastic they call a rain guard or whatever LOL... made my own fender elim kit, and it looks comparable to one you'd buy...
Then blacked out my windshield with some plasti-dip on the underside... looks pretty fresh now! All in all, 10 bucks worth of material is all I got in it! |

Just got done putting the bike back together.
Those float bowl screws are a bitch to get to and I managed to lose one, good thing I had spares. Found out that I was running 106 mains and I think dynojet needles at the 3rd groove. Threw in the FP recommended 112 main and put in the FP needles (they had a visibly different taper than the DJ needles) on the 3rd groove. Previous owner also drilled the vacuum slides. I couldn't for the life of me get the idle mixture screws to exhibit symptoms of being rich (idle, blip, RPMs drop below idle and rise back to idle). I turned both screws in and the idle dropped and I got the hanging blip, then I turned them both in and backed each out 2.5 turns and it seemed to be fine to me, the idle didn't hang nor did it drop below. I even turned them each out about 3 turns and it still responded fine. Going to give it a couple of pulls before the end of today to see if I can feel any differences between the 106 and 112 mains. The mains that I had in there just had 106 on them with no other markings so I have no clue what brand jets they are. The biggest main jet that comes with the FP Stage 3 kit is the 115 so if I experience a lean top-end I might switch it out for that. EDIT: Just did a highway onramp pull and definitely noticed a difference between the 106 and 112 main jets. 2nd and 3rd gears seemed to disappear by how hard the bike pulled on the top end. 3k-7k felt "meh" to me, although I'm not sure how hard the bike should pull in that rev range because I'm used to leaving the bike at 7k usually. Going to leave the jetting the way it is for the remainder of the week and do a plug check next weekend. Also, I found that the throttle response is a lot crisper when blipping and downshifting. On Saturday was driving on some back roads in PA. Crested a hill in 4th, see a minivan that had pulled over in a driveway to a farm. She looks like she wants to make a U-turn, I watch her eyes, she never looks back, and starts to pull into the lane. I was watching her so I expected it, I hit the horn, she doesn't hear it. I hit the horn some more, she still keeps coming. She's blocking my lane and half of the oncoming lane now, I lay on the horn, slide in front of her and keep going.
Didn't really hit me until a couple miles down the road but if there was oncoming traffic it would have ruined my whole day. I made a lot of mistakes. By trusting another driver to see me I passively hoped that that would be enough. As soon as I saw her and I knew she didn't see me I should have started to emergency brake immediately. I should have proactively looked after my own safety. |

Did my first commute with my new Area-P full system and jetting. Didn't do anything out of the ordinary, just rode like I normally would. The thing was that I couldn't tell if the bike was running better or worse after the jetting since I normally just shift at 7k until I reach 6th gear when commuting and not doing WOT pulls. Throttle response was definitely crisper when blipping and downshifting.
I also found out when starting the bike up to go home that I must have disconnected the choke cable by accident. Good thing my bike will start fine without the choke. Going to do a plug check this weekend and fix my choke cable. If my commute is roughly 75% highway with the throttle mostly at 1/4 - 1/2, can a plug check determine if my needle height needs to be adjusted? Or is it just basically "YO DAWG YOUR WHOLE JETTING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED." My current jetting is with 112 mains and needles at the 3rd groove and I don't know what I set my idle screws at. |

Then do some gradual roll-on/off's from about 5k to 10k, keeping in the 1/4-3/4 throttle. It should be smooth when rolling on, and smooth when rolling off. There should be no hesitations, flat spots, or surging. |
