I can tell you this, if that idiot had swerved into me like he did that one guy, I would have opened fire with my 1911. That's a lethal threat.

And then he would have ran your ass over and claimed to the cops that a motorcycle opened fire on him. Not only would you be dead in a ditch but the driver would not even get arrested.

I'm all for responsible gun ownership. It's our right and freedom as United States citizens.

Opening fire from a moving vehicle that you're operating in traffic is not responsible usage of a weapon. Hunting is good. Target shooting for sport is good. Self defense is good. Collecting vintage firearms as a hobby is good. Shooting in traffic is bad.

You have no business owning a weapon if you believe that you have the right to open fire on a highway where you have no control over variables, like bystanders and other property. Traffic is not worth that kind of action. Isn't that why we all cringe at road rage in the first place? There's no reason to escalate an already bad situation. Just follow the person, get their plates on camera, go to the police with footage, and the other driver will get charged with a whole list of offenses. Just don't forget to ask for the court date so you can go make faces at them as they get taken out in cuffs.

And you wonder why there's such a strong base of people who don't approve of firearms.

Just for the record, I quite like guns. I've hunted for like all of my life and grew up with guns. But being responsible is key. And I'm sure he wasn't being serious about opening fire on a vehicle on the highway.

Well put. Hell, he probably can't even hit a speed limit sign with an empty beer bottle at 70.

I'll have you know I'm a fantastic shot! Back in the day I used to love knocking shot gun shells over at 50 and 100 yards with my .22. Tried that with the 30-06 once... not quite as accurate. I can still give you a hell of a group though.

Never shot handguns. My dad never got one after his cousin(who was pretty much his best friend) shot himself in the head when he was growing up... always lusted after them myself. Pretty little 1911's or although I know they get a lot of hate, a Glock 45 Plastic or not, they hold up to pretty much anything!

That's like poking a bear with a stick how f**king stupid do you have to be. By the way the gun argument can go on for years so its best just to agree to disagree. I am an avid gun collector and shooter and a very firm believer in self defence. But you must also be a responsible shooter, by that I mean there are times to break out iron (this never being one of them) and times to back off and let the da*n hoopty piece of crap putter by and DO NOT keep pissing him off. If your shot endangers anyone or could ever endanger anyone bystanding then its not a shot worth taking. Rule of of any active shooter is to never clear leather unless your ready to pull the trigger and if that situation should arise for you a less than leathal shot should be taken if possible to end a conflict. It is never a good feeling to end a human life and it WILL haunt you for the rest of your days. And for the macho gun owners who have never drawn a bead on a human being its a lot harder to even point much less fire. So lets not get on this again. 99% of people in the south own firearms and are willing to use them its a fact of life and noone can change that.
