How many miles are you getting out of your sport demon rear

Like the tittle says.

My OEM IRC's had 13000 miles before center cords showed.
Michelin pilot ones where never calculated because they had a race weekend on them.
Michelin pilot Road 3's had 5250 miles before cords started showing on the left.

I'm 2900 miles into my Rosso II's and ill be surprised if I get to 4000 so I need to order a tire soon. I was going to just order another Rosso but if these things are only going to last me a month or so at a time then I might as well order them by the dozen.

I know most if not all of us hated the IRC's and it seems a lot of members here rave about the sport demons Improvment to handling but what about its longevity. I hear of the IRC going 12000+ miles all the time but what about the sport demons.

I have my doubts about going back to a bias-ply rear for the demand I put on my bike but if it gets me through 8000 miles or more per tire it may be worth the sacrifice.

Any input would be helpful and if I go this route ill be sure to give a review of the tire.

sport demons will do 5000 if you are nice to them... 2000 if you arent. the 003s i thought held up better on the sides and were grippier than the sport demons....but the center of the sport demons were good for commuting... kinda. i like the rosso2s... im getting decent life on my current set and they seem plenty sticky

Well that's just lame

I think ill continue my search for the perfect tire capable of harnessing the awesome power of the ninja 250 without dying and quick a painful death.

I have about 1500-2500 on mine, mostly commuting. I can just now see the beginnings of the center starting to be squared off. I feel like mine are a little squirmy on the edges. The Pilot road 2's I put on the gixxer at the same time that I put the sport demons on the ninjette have always felt more planted. I think the sport demons will get me to 5000-6000 so @alex.s's estimate is pretty good, maybe a little low. Your mileage my vary, given how you ride. I don't think the sport demons will be my next choice in tire for my bike.

the IRCs will last you 10k miles. just be smooth on the gas so it doesn't slide out so bad

I've a set of BT-45s on that have a good bit left & have seen 7600 miles so far. Combination of commuting & fast runs (and fast commuting when I was in my old job, 15 mile run on twisty backroads. pity the boss was a world class ****)

BT45s would be the worst tire for jason. They'd become the opposite of squared off

the 45s are decent commuter tires. better than an IRC for side grip... not as good as the 003 for side grip... about the same center as an 003... maybe a bit harder than the 003. i didn't like them very much.

So jiggles old N1K front tire is now on the back of my bike and although it was a short 40 test on some very tight roads with a couple sweepers ill reserve my final judgment for a later time.

What I can say is the lower profile was apparent as soon as I got on but after 2 miles I forgot about it.

Lower profile raised my RPMs a few % but that's a given. I'm curious on if I can achieve a slightly high top speed with this lighter tire, ill test this at another time.

The road I took home was damp, dirty and branchy but even at what 90% of riders would call a highly spirited pace(group 1 pace for you group riders) I had zero issue with traction or predictability.

I think ill kill this tire first then switch over to jiggles stock tire off the rear of his 300. By that point I should have acquired some decent race takeoff to try out. I will say its nice to be able to completely swap tires including balancing in less then 15mins at the shop whenever I get the itch.

Ever think about a bt-016 or bt-090? There is a stock tire off a yami supermotard in our size that I have thought about.

Mgents has a point Jason. The bt090s might be the dark horse choice. Price wise they aren't bad and I got what 5k miles out of my rear and it was a take off and I did a track day on it. And they are infinitely better than irc

Commuting, I'm at 13500 on my stock tires so far. I'm going to replace them when I do the 15000 mile service, but they would go longer if I rode them till they bled cords. They still have some tread left on them, not quite to the wear bars in the center.

Not so good for the really spirited rides, I wouldn't trust them for that sort of thing, but commuting they really hold up well.
