C-550 Wellnut
Is it possible to find these..? I checked the kawasaki site, ebay, google, amazon, ninjette..basically I'm looking for a wellnut that has C-550 on it, its about half the size of the typical looking M5 wellnuts that come with aftermarket windshield kits and it also has an O ring in the center of it.
I cant find it anywhere, Anyone know where to get them? I've looked for about 10-15minutes and have checked all types of forums aswell with no luck |

Come on, Anyone? After searching i found something very similer to what im talking about, but theyre still not quite it.
http://www.neverland-motor.com/unive...5mm-black.html Very similer to these, with the built in Oring. The wellnuts im trying to find i believe came stock with the 2012 ninja. I have 2 left at the 2 top mounts of my wind screen, I couldnt find them on the kawasaki sites and the bolt kits dont even come with them. |

Can I get a picture of the exact wellnut? I've purchased quite a few different kinds over the years.
Why do you need the built in O-ring? |

And it's molded that way new and not just deformed like that opon tightening right?
I've seen both, I just have to remember if I can order those through anywhere but the dealers. |

That picture has no molded o-ring.
Now that I think about it the only ones I've seen that have a molded bulge are always ones I've removed from a Yamaha as OEM I always figured after a few months being compressed like that it stays like that. Kinda like your mom used to say when you'd make a funny face If you just need short nuts then the Lockhart ones are only 10mm long that's only 3/8 of and inch so its very short. The only other thing I can think of is going to a Yamaha dealer and asking for part # 90179-05523-00 that's the well but off an R1 and if I've ever come across one with a molded bulge it would probably be off a Yamaha. Sorry I'm not more help but I swear the I have normal nuts that look just like your first pic after they've been used and sitting out years later. Ill keep looking and let you know if I find what your looking for. |

Ok so I found the c-550 but it says its 14.2 mm long when new uncompressed. Here the website with the detailed chart but you may have to call them up to order since I can't find a buy button. I still say buy the Lockhart 10mm since they're shorter.

The standard M5's shown in post 9 are just an example. They will compress in the middle exactly like the pic i showed in post 7 . If that was the case though and they got "stuck" that way after a long period of time, wouldnt the inside of the wellnut be deformed or look different in some way? I ended up taking them off and got some better pics.
These also feel stronger all around, were much harder to bend and install compared to the ones i posted in post 9 that looks too perfect to be caused by just tightening right? |

Time and age make them harder(tougher) plus some brands will use a slightly higher quality rubber then others. Those last pics look like normal well nuts that are permanently deformed.
And no the centers will look normal because the bolt was in there keeping the centers round shape. |

they are most likely designed to deform in a certain manner as well
