Pulsating brakes?

This just happened to my front brakes 3 days ago. I thought it might have been low on fluids but thats fine. It feels like the brakes bite then let go and bite again. You can feel it pulsating on the levers as well. Any ideas?

Warped rotor? Seems unlikely on a 2011 though

Probably not a problem for you in San Diego but up here in Canada pulsing brakes is usually from rust build up on the disc's. If it sits outside and it's a rainy or damp night the rust seems to form around the brake pads and over time will eat its way into the disc causing pulsation as the pad passes the spots. Have a close look for rust marks. If you don't see any ask whoever you live with what they dropped on your bike. "I knocked the ladder over and it hit your front wheel, but everything looks fine"

I'm with a bent or deformed rotor as well

You don't have a spongy feeling lever correct so no fluid loss or air in the lines?

You could check the pads as well, they are cheaper than a new rotor
