Again, the difference in BP between the 2 bikes is wild to see side by side. More cool stuff Eric!

Thanks. I've always been partial to it, besides I think I remember hearing somewhere it was the fastest color. . Just hope I can keep it looking nice.

Thanks Ed.

That's a distinct possibility. I've got a few things going on and I'm going to do the double header at Road Atlanta, so I'm not 100% sure I can make it. You guys put on a great track day. Do you have many 250's signed up yet?

BTW the bike ran much much after tweaking it after the dyno run you guys did.

Your bike will be the 5th 250. Do you want me to go ahead and save you a spot until you know?

And you're welcome; Huey is the reason for any success I've had on the track - I'm the most mediocre dude out there!

Also more relevant to the thread, first track day in a week so I'll post up some pics of my (newbie) bp.

Going into this thinking I'm supposed to try and touch my chin to the handlebar and have my butt off the seat a little, am I right?

Not positive but I think it's a 500. That pic was taken during the light weight practice session.

Yeah you want to hang your butt off somewhat. Not to sure about chin on the handlebar though. I try and look through the turn, but I have a tendency to sit a little to upright through the corner, trying to work on staying lower.

Good luck and have fun. Remember to relax as much as you can on the bike and go at you own pace.

Thanks! And yes it has! Our local organization ( MCRA ) just introduced a 250 class this year and it has been a HUGE hit Every race weekend this year has seen a larger grid then the previous as people are seeing how much fun this class is!

I'm currently on the hunt for a ninja 250 as we speak, hoping to join in on the last race weekend of the year for MCRA

Yep, I raced with MCRA earlier this year @Putnam. It was a hoot, pretty competitive and the battles are great. We did 2 races that day, I ran outta gas in the first one (pit crew fail!!!!), was gently rubbed on the rear wheel, and binned it in turn one during the second race, my fault for being too eager to take 3rd place. lol

Good luck finding a 250 and I will see you on the grid plenty next season.

Didn't know you were looking for a 250 Rizzy! Ill keep my eye out for you!

If the grid keeps getting bigger they will really need to put us in a race of our own...

The 250 class at Gateway is getting good. Nine on the grid for the September race! Top three or four are really fast, the rest are getting faster. October race could be epic!

Here's my first track day!

How I do?

I have some more that are mostly the same corners on different laps/sessions so I tried to upload the better looking ones. I definitely need to hang off my bike more but hey it was my first time!

Jiggles called, he wants his signature BP back. now you know what we mean when we say that you can feel like you're exaggerating everything in terms of BP

But really, here's some things you can work on, even on the street:
-head in and down, chest closer to the tank
-relax the arms, you look like you're holding weight
-relax the hands
-relax the shoulders
-no duck feet. Stick the ball of your foot on the peg, not the arch.

Dude, I don't can't see the grin through your chin bar, did you have fun??

Thanks, I seriously felt like I was hanging off the bike so much lol.

I think I need to loosen up all over like you said, I figured I was okay because I wasn't getting sore but there were a few corners where I started hanging off like I think I should have been and it felt like it clicked, but of course the photographer didn't get any pics of that :P.

My left leg was getting sore though, I thought it was because my pants are a bit tight when I stick my knee out, but looking at these pictures it's hardly even out so maybe I was focusing too much weight on it?

The other thing the photographer missed was my getting air on the back straight. I did it almost every single lap and he didn't catch a shot of that! I was definitely grinning though lol. Most fun I've ever had on two wheels and maybe even ever. I'll be going back for sure, the tracks only a few miles from my college so that will be convenient.

It's freaking amazing what this bike can do, The suspensions getting on in age and I haven't adjusted it, heck I didn't even check my tire pressures and I still hit my limits waaaaaaay before the bike ever did.

I think I'll sign up for B group next time though. I was passing every single rider in C and we're only allowed to pass on straights and almost everyone had a faster bike than me lol.

errmmm, okay. Group skill varies greatly by day. Sometimes B group is A pace racers, sometimes it's a bunch of C level guys. That's why I've been so hesitant to move up at all. Did you get a chance to park on a corner and watch the different skill groups? Any one-on-one time with the control riders? You can learn a ton from doing that on lines and BP and such.

Get any video?

I still haven't found the limits of my 250. I got a little taste of pushing the front, but that's it. Always my limits getting in the way.

Soreness, can be normal for a first time track rider. A day of taking the same left handers over and over can lead to soreness. While riding more aggressively, it's a sign that you haven't found the sweet spot in the saddle that allows you to lock on without intense focus or effort. Play with it a bit, it's your bum on your bike, there is no right or wrong here.

Chone is right about the B group, they also call the B group the meat grinder. You can possibly find any and all skill level riders out there at the same time. The racers will stalk prey (work on passing skills via different lines), riders with that fresh smell from the C group (n00bs) and riders that are truly working on skillz, lines and what not. Throw in more relaxed passing rules, faster pace and you got yourself a recipe for crash soup.

Your ready for B when you can confidently hold a line at pace, don't "park it" in the corners and don't freak when getting passed.

Dont bump up, stay in the "C" class and work on your body position.

Get a camera and point it toward your or have it mounted on your tail section pointing at you and review it after every session to figure out how far you actually are getting off the bike. I completely understand this it does feel like your getting off so much further than you actually are.

I cant believe you didn't check your tire pressure.

Find a track side vendor to get your sag set.

Watch twist of the wrist volume 2.

Put a butt-cam on the tail pointing forward, just like in my avatar picture. It's the best help you'll ever get on motorcycle BP, short of doing that CSS, where they stick the camera on a 6' pole so they can see your entire body on film. They also chase you one on one with one of their awesome riders (like Misti) to critique you.

next time, I'm going to put it on my tank and point it back so I can get a better idea of my head/shoulders/elbow positioning. I'll alternate with my butt-cam.
