250cc, 282cc, 300cc Motor Build Packages
I am offering a full line up of 250 engine packages; everything from stock motor refresh to a true 300CC race motor!

Sounds good, especially the 282cc motor upgrade from a 250. I assume these are the for the pre-gen too, and not just the new-gen 250s? Any idea on how much money we're talking about?

Somchai, thats not what i asked. HIS price is 3,000 to 6,000 depending on which stage you get. So i wanted to know what HIS stage entails vs price.
EFI is only around 500, so im not worried about that. |

The per and second gen engines are similar. But nothing is interchangeable ex the rods.

I honestly wouldnt be able to do this for quite some time. Glad to see this being offered though. Im just now getting some race bodywork, and ill have to start buying track gear but once i start building the 250 ill give you some business.

What compression ratio are you using in the dynoed engines? Are you using forged JE pistons?

Stock compression ratio is 11.61:1 Each motor's CR will differ depending on each customers build. I have build stages, but I literally speak directly with each customer in order to build a custom motor for them; IE what kind of fuel do you have the budget to run, is this a land speed motor, street motor, trackdays, road race(sprint or endurance?) etc... it is always higher than stock.(I also use Carrillo H-Beam rods in most of my builds) Keep in mind that if you are running stock rods, higher compression ratio's will increase the shock and stress on the rods quite a bit... if youve ever seen the rods in these motors they look like twigs lol |

are you saying you add enough weight to the crank to balance against the pistons without the balancer crank?
or are you saying after removing the large balancer, you have the crank balanced separately? but it's still the stock crank? i'm very confused. i know the pistons are 180 apart so their weight counter acts each other, but the counter balance weights are also 180... even if the crank was perfectly balanced, it wouldn't be balanced with the pistons. how could it? the crank would have to be massive wouldn't it? so with stock crank and counter balance removed, wouldn't it create a much larger rotation torque on each stroke without the counterbalancer? how is it not buzzy?

You can remove the balance and balance the stock crank. The stock crank and bal lancer is meant to be pretty smooth throughout the RPM range. On a race engine e I only want it smooth at say 12000 rpm . So the resipricating mass is balanced at that RPM.If it shakes at other rpm that is just a sacrifices made for performance.

I talked to Brandon today for quite a long time. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to the 250 and has done a lot of experimentation. I think anyone going with one of his packages will be very satisfied. In fact he and I bounced a few ideas off each other and there are even a couple of things I haven't done yet I'm going to do because he recommended them.
for those of you following my build you know how much work I put into my 250. Brandon's engine packages basically put you in the same or better ballpark without all the experimentation and work that Brad and i had to go through. |
