Are there disposable air filters available for the 08 250?

$6.73?? yes, the element is what i mean. the maintenance instructs to clean the air filter but i wanted to see how much it was new. at that price, it's worth my time to just buy a new one each time instead of cleaning it!

thanks for the link.

...because washing it with some dish detergent and squeezing some oil into it is more expensive than $6.73 plus shipping? You'll need to have oil to put on it anyway since it comes dry.

To each their own, I guess.

Or you could just get a reuseable one. If you plan on keeping the bike for awhile it makes more sense.

Has anyone used a paper filter in their bike? I'm not sure I really trust the foam filter to get much out of the air.

I did a quick search and found a few available: http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/19-10313.html?id=hStZ4xw6, http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=KA-2508

Edit: And if I'm being stupid, does anyone have a quick howto on oiling/cleaning the OEM filter? (Sounds straightforward, but I've never done it before..)

Throwing out an air filter because you can't be bothered to clean it? You're an evil polluter!

On the other hand, if you'd like to mail it to me, I'll put it to good use.

NaughtyusMaximus: foam air filters are significantly better in every respect (except maximizing air flow) than their paper counterparts. Trust me. If your concern is engine protect, I'd be shocked to find anything as good as the OEM filter.
