Yeesh. Just saw the fairing rip pics - good thing nothing else happened! Probably didn't see where those pieces flew off to eh? Any luck finding fairing pieces? Not many parts floating around as of late.

I'm not feeling ready to dump about a hundred bucks on a new fairing piece at the moment though. I'm sure a ton more parts will show up on the used market come spring |

Becca, I'd be trimming the fairing to a clean line and leave the upper half as a fixed 1/4 fairing. You don't need the sides. I think it'll actually look better too and be thinner between the legs, which is a good thing.
If I had/ever do drop mine, that is my plan. Leave the upper black piece, anything that attaches to the tank as they left nasty mounts in the tank like the older gen Ninjas. Trim around the turn signal, or cut that off and do a flush mount somewhere, maybe in the mirrors. |

That reminds me of a repair I made to a cast iron alternator bracket on an old 4x4 that snapped landing a jump. Notched it out, cleaned it up, and filled the area with braze. Next time I did the same thing the bolt broke. |

You know, I was really lazy about replacing some of the broken plastic parts on my bike and it turned out to work in my favor. I have had the dash cowl and that boomerang shaped plastic for a while now, but since I kept the broken pieces on the bike, I could drill holes wherever I needed to zip tie that side fairing down. There is no way I would have drilled holes into the unbroken fairing pieces. Yay laziness!

So after a long ass time, I actually got full fairings on my bike! Don't have time, money, or space to paint them at the moment, but matching is overrated right? I probably should get a new fairing stay though because mine is still just crooked enough to make getting fairings on a pain in the ass. I had to grind some of the holes to make stuff fit.
More importantly though, finally installed an Area P full exhaust and PCV! I've had the **** sitting around for a while but didn't bother to install it all this time lol. |

Nah I'm not really too interested in doing that.
I found two issues while riding to school today. The shifter catches on the bottom fairing due to its new position from the exhaust. Also the brake pedal hits the exhaust pipe. Time for some grinding. |
