Some of this was today and some has been the last couple weeks. My Photobucket through my cell is a PITA so I hav'nt bothered cause if there is no pick it never happened right?
Took the bike to Mulhollan Canyon over the 4th Holiday..Put about 1000 miles on in two days. Did a fender delete. Made some custom 45.ACP valve stem caps from a 1911 I fired recently. Installed the Apex SS Brake lines from the group buy. Retrofitted a pair of Gsxr mirrors onto the stock mirror bases. will be painting them satin black down the road. Bought a large Nelson RIg Tank Bag. Installed some carbon vinyl wrap on the tank. (experimenting)

nice work!
the spent brass is a nice touch might want to coat it with lacquer or something so it doesn't tarnish too much.

Valve adjustments (exhaust valves were all tight), carb sync and new plugs. Now the bike starts up (cold engine) with no choke needed and runs smoother. Now at 15k miles.

Yup, 1st valve adjustment. Bike is mainly used for commuting to work. Brought it over to Moto Shop over here in So San Francisco. They show you how to work on your bike, but you do the labor and learn from it. |

Previously took my Ninjette from Dallas to New Orleans. Decided this morning to go from Dallas to Pensacola, FL.
It's amazing what a Corbin seat and a ThrottleMeister will do to a 2-fiddy. |

Took her out for a 10 mile test ride. Something I could not do last night do to a bottle of a very nice shiraz. It pulls like my 500 did, just lighter and more flickable. When I got back I turned the idle down to 1k. I did not like how much it pulled at 1.5k.

New forks, my left fork was bent and had a crease in it.
New front fender and fender mounting bracket. Still waiting on my rear sets to come in, then the 250R will be back in business. |

Hm, my steering lock won't work anymore. I remember hearing a snapping sound when I compressed the forks a couple of times, does anyone know how it works and what parts I would need to replace?

The steering lock mechanism is pretty small and most likely snapped. Unfortunately you may have to get a whole new lock/ignition set if you want it to work again.

Works similar to a cars steering lock. Theres a little piece of metal that comes out and butts up against a steering stop on the frame usually. From my experience most are made of cast metal which we know is garbage when it comes to strength. I'm sure it will cost a fair amount for the whole set...that means new keys and all. I doubt they are rebuildable. Make sure you get an Alarm and or disc lock for added security. I picked up a cheap MC alarm for $15 on amazon. It's been good so far til I can afford a paging alarm.

Have you raised the fork tubes? If so, you have lowered the rear, right?
The clip-ons are supposed to be installed under the top triple, not above it.
