I've had the CB since Saturday lol. Just got a carb rebuild kit and new full 4-1 exhaust. Might get the carb work done by south seas or something. I don't trust myself

rebuilding a carb is not as hard as you think. i never rebuild a carb before untill my friend took a chance on me rebuilding his holly 4brl to go on his freshly rebuilt motor....as long as you take your time and follow directions, everything will be fine

After talking with a few moto guys, I've decided to do the carb cleaning, valve/tappet adjustment, and whatever else needs to be done myself.

Once I get all that stuff done, I can work on actually improving it :>

Well I've decided to do the carb cleaning now, and the rebuild whenever the kit comes in.

Does anyone have a compressed air blower thing for the needles and such? Or is there an alternative? I have a small compressor that I use to inflate tires, but it doesn't have a .. jet nozzle or whatever, but that's about it.

FINALLY got my carbs off.

Stripped screw = dremel/drill.
Dremel/drill = Sparks.
Sparks + leaking carbs = Scary.

Other than that, this bike is starting to look like it'll come together nicely. Gonna do the valve adjustment myself too. Ordered a 4-1 exhaust, pod filters, clubman bars (might get clip-ons later), new clutch/throttle/speedo cables, side stand, and a few fix-it pieces. Once I'm done with that, I can worry about paint/rechrome/cafe.

Can't wait to bring it out for a group ride

Going to bring it in to south seas nimitz to get them drilled. But that's after my zorst comes in as well as the replacement clutch/throttle cables. I might try starting it up just to see if it idles whenever I finish my url change and get my key back (friend took it with his to get copies made, but nowhere on the island has it, so I had to pay $12 for two from some site -.-)

i actually meet a couple of 250 females a couple days ago..i rode to work(bad idea) and was coming home after a long 18 hour shift...bike was FILTHY, sand, mud, coral dust, cardite you name it..anyway...stopped to get a drink and a splash of fuel...they roll in and start chatting me up on dirty my bike is..i was like, look here bitches!! i didnt mean to get my little rocket liek this..i jsut couldnt use the car today, it will be clean my sunrise!! they laughed..got the humor, good stuff. i told em about ninjette, so hopefully they sign up. both are stationed here, super cool. exchanged numbers, their not much for pack riding, but i hope to ride with them and a buddy tomorrow night.

i keep seeing a guy in ewa..over by a friends with a blue 250..skinny asian kid..i'm about to get really offensive..so if you dont like, you were warned, suck it up.... every time i see him alone..he has his helmet on from the house, cant see what he looks like..every other time he has his very large i believe white gf on the back in a skirt that is way too short and not for her body type..and she has absoluetely no gear on.

my usual comment to people i run into like this, and i say it right to them " if you loved her, you'd gear her up"

dont be a fukn retard and let your girl on your bike while your safely geared...and she is in shorts or a skirt and no helmet/jacket,etc

really...idiots.

ok..i'm out..doin night ops this week, gotta make sure all is well and ready.

new house is almost completely moved in and money is being saved..gonna pay ninja off and get my smc sooner than later

Purchased a full 99-02 fork/triple tree/axle. Supposedly with a little modification to the triple tree, it'll fit right on my 550.

IF my bike is working on Saturday/Sunday/whateverday, I'll head out with ya'll. I'm pretty sure I just need to put the stock airbox back on and it'll run again. I think I can put the pod filters back on when I get the new jets in. Also, my new exhaust FINALLY came in ! Shipping was through UPS, and it went from FL to TX to CA to Canada.

Why it when to Canada? I have NO idea. Hopefully it was logistics, and not just a screw-up >>;
