I don't see a social group for MD people, specifically central MD. There's a lot of VA, PA including DE groups...or am I blind and missing it? (Wouldn't surprise me)

SHE'S BACK!!!!! LOL They grouped DC/MD/VA riders together for some reason and gave Delaware riders our own group even though DE is small, cause we're short bus window licker special....

Oh great, they grouped all of us in with you guys? LOL

I don't consider us that close proximity with each other.

Exclamation MD/VA/PA/DE/DC Area Riding Study

Hi Everyone,

Just getting the word out there to anyone interested in participating in the Rider Study.

In case you're not following the thread, please look at my last post here:
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=87446

I did the study myself and it's very easy (actually, kind of fun.)

If you or someone you know has a motorcycle learner's permit in MD they will allow you to convert it to a license at the study.

LOL I'm sure they do, and the MVA has a lot of State Troopers in the area just waiting to pounce on any law breaker out there...

But, I'm just saying, HOW you get there, you're on your own and they are not responsible for anything you do illegally. You're only required to be prepared for whatever they expect for any rider student taking a skills test: proper equipment & gear. You must have the helment/eye protection, long sleeve shirt, gloves, long pants/jeans & closed toe shoes that cover the ankles. All that is part of the skills test and you'd fail before you even start if you're not at least dressed appropriately.

For the rider study - they don't require you to have the correct gear other than what's required by law. They just want you to do you - ride how you normally ride, and don't think of the person video taping behind you. They're not going to rate or grade you and tell you what you did wrong or could do better at the end. It's simply video taping you while you ride.

I am not sure but I think there's a big difference between driving suspended and driving with a learner's permit.

Anyhow, the Ninja sightings thread is too spread out...I couldn't find one just for our neck of the woods (DC/VA/MD/DE)

For the skills test at the MVA, I don't think they require a long sleeve shirt, pants, all that stuff right? Just a helmet, as required my Maryland law. I'm scheduled to take the test at my MVA on August 20th.. they're all booked up til then, lol

Granted, I've been riding the wheels off my bike without anyone else.. just a technicality of me having to wait to get my full license hahaha

I don't know what the rules are at the MVA, but for our classes, the MVA mandates the gear requirements for the skills testing.

I don't understand why they would mandate it for the schools, but not for their own tests? Doesn't make much sense.

I might be down - depending on where we are meeting/going. I haven't ridden for like 3 weeks except within a 10 mile radius of my home, going out to eat or going to the gym. I'm definitely itching to go on a ride.

So I'm curious - where do you ride? Back roads? Residential streets? I prefer the highway, if I had to choose, because you just ride straight. As long as it's not traffic like rush hour...

Well, it looks like I will be selling my Ninja in a few weeks time, as soon as I get the lien release from the bank.

It would be nice to get in one more nice ride with some other 250s before I do., though!
