When my daughter saw the red colour of my new bike her first comment was "You need to buy a new helmet now". I guess she didn't think the Scorpion Exo 500 Oil Neon matched very well.
So ordered a Bell RS-1 Gearhead helmet. Not mine, it arrives Friday

Ok guys here's the final product...All graphics are hand-cut vinyl pieces. The main theme is the Union Jack, since I now own a Triumph Speed Triple.

Just got this in: Nexx Helmets - Model: Alpha in Green
Past helmets were Shoei X-Eleven, Arai Corsair, AGV Ti-Tech, HJC, RF-1000, you name it I've owned if not crashed in it. LOL And I have to say Nexx helmets are no joke compared to Arai/Shoei. They're lighter, snugglier (is that even a word?..if not it should be LOL), and your peripheral vision is wider & taller which is one of the main reasons why I wanted this. The quality is top notch and the fact that it's hundred of dollars cheaper than an Arai/Shoei is HUGE plus! I highly recommend you guys look into these helmets. Bought this helmet a few weeks ago. It's the nicest helmet I've tried so far. My camera sucks, the paint looks a lot better in person.
Arai RX-Q in Diamond Black w/dark smoke shield. The only thing I don't like about this helmet is changing the shield. It's extremely frustrating, so i just leave the dark shield on it and wear my other helmet at night.

Here's a picture I came across on another forum of a guy who saw a fellow rider on the track crash with his Nexx Carbon helmet. I figured I'd share this here for anyone who was looking into one.
"There is some outer paint peeling on the side of the lid it looks like, but all that on the back is cracking. The guy wearing it confirmed it. It was an average track crash. In MY opinion, this helmet failed. Bad. The guy also had a severe concussion." |

I've also heard that their carbon fiber helmets are of sketchy quality. There's probably a reason that their carbon fiber helmets are so much cheaper than other brands.
I think the whole carbon fiber thing is just a fad anyway, and don't really see the need for helmets made entirely from it.

The bugs are back. That means spring is finally here. The one thing I enjoy about riding in the winter is that I rarely have to clean my visor. |

I'm seriously debating getting this helmet while it's on sale at closeouts. Do you like it so far and do you have the transition shield with it? Edit: Sizing as well, I measure my head at around 59 centimeters, the site says this would require a large, do you have any experience with their online sizing recommendations because I've read reviews stating that it fits awkwardly at that size or seems a bit narrow. |

The three-mode shield thing is also nice. I do not have the transition shield, as I don't mind carrying the clear shield with me as needed. If I hadn't already had the tinted shield then I probably would have picked it up, but the combo deal is probably worth it! As for sizing, my head measured just under 22", so I have a small in the Vortex and RS-1. The Vortex is a bit bigger than the RS-1; both are tight when you first get them, as they should be, but my RS-1 is starting to break in nicely... you can always get a slightly smaller set of cheek pads if you wanted. I will say that because of the way they have the chin straps mounted, if I don't pull the cheek pads outwards when taking the helmet off, it rapes the cartilage in my ears :P |

Edit: Right now I have an old HJC CL-14 its snell approved but I got it second hand from a buddy of mine when I first got my bike. I'm positive it's been dropped at least a few times and I know that this can mess with the structural integrity of any helmet (much less one as old as this one) so I'm shopping around for a new one. I also have a tinted shield on it at the moment and changing them out is a bii******ch so that why I'm interested in the transition. |

Do you use a GoPro at all? Do you know if the curved adhesive mount would fit well with the very front chin section of the helmet? My current helmet has a crease in the front making any possibility of mounting a camera there impossible. Just wondering if a curved adhesive mount would work well with the front of this helmet.
Thanks! |

I don't have a self taken picture, and I can't really be bothered to take one, maybe one day I'll update this post.
It's a Shark S700, and I got it pretty cheap, which was a huge plus. $T2eC16JHJF0E9nmFQhdDBP+Qv6HWtg~~60_35.jpeg This helmets great, I love it, I do kind of wish I just got the matte black version though

Ordered the RS-1 the other night with the transition face shield.
Hope it feels as great as it looks when I get it. I'll get a pic whenever it gets here. |

First helmet purchase ever.
KBC VR Helmet in Matte Black from Motorcycle-Superstore on closeout ($47 shipped ) Unboxing: Leaving the stickers on until after my MSF course this weekend (unless I choose to use it during the course): I know it's not the best, but for the price and with my budget it's perfect until I can save for another helmet. |
