You'll get tired of it eventually. My spartan leathers are mostly white..my new NJK suit is mostly black and grey. Never again will I buy white motorcycle gear.

For your jeans, did you buy a size up to accomodate the armored shorts or did you buy your normal size and the shorts still fit underneath? Looking to get a pair of the Lodown jeans along with some armored shorts and assumed I'd need to size-up the jeans. |

How do you like the GP-R jacket so far? I was considering it over the Dainese Alien but ended up going with the Alien... if it doesn't fit I'm considering exchanging it for the GP-R but I've been trying to get opinions on the GP-R from other riders.

the alien looks like a really nice jacket, I wish they had it in white like the racing jacket. If they had it in white I would choose it over the racing

Well I bought my bike a few weeks ago (first bike I have ever owned). Wrecked it 5 days later. The only gear I had was a helmet (unknown brand) that came with the bike and was slightly too big. I wore my hospital scrubs and tennis shoes. LOL. while my bike is under repair I have been shopping around for some REAL gear. I have a jacket on order. It a silver speed and strength ladies jacket. My bike is green so I have been trying to find a helmet that is green and silver. was looking at boots but cant really find anything I like so far. And Im just gonna pick up a pair of gloves at my local kawi dealer. If you have any suggestions on helmets/boots, send 'em my way, thanks!
Pic of jacket is what it looks like only mine is all silver, not white |

My wife has a Speed & Strength "lil miss dangerous" helmet with a silver reflective shield that would match your jacket, she got it for a pretty good price from either Revzilla or Motorcycle Superstore. While we were looking at bikes today I saw some tourmaster boots, can't remember the name, but they looked comfy, supportive, protective, and would go under jeans or scrubs. Being a person who wears scrubs to work as well, I have found that something like a nice overpant works wonders, especially if the weather sucks or it's chilly. Plus that lil extra material is always there for you just in case.Right now I'm using ICON's rain pant/overalls and they are light, tough, and waterproof.

I've got pretty big paws and long fingers so I went with the XL. Some people say that the thumb is made a tad too long but it fits nicely for me. The XL's were spot on for my hand size. They break in nicely and seem very durable. They have been completely soaked from the rain once and rained on, but not soaked, countless times. Seem to be holding up just fine. I love the protection of the handroids and they are surprisingly comfy after you break em in. I would def buy again.

I am heading out for a night ride in the mountains around by MT Charleston. It is fun and challenging but not to challenging. Not much traffic at night, have to stay focused there are some turns, no lights on the road other than your headlights, stay alert for the local wildlife. Ride as much as you can at night before night blindness takes over with age. Plus sooooo much cooler in the night air. |

Well I just got my new helmet in today. I ordered it in as a back up helmet, but may end up liking it even more than my Icon. I am just wearing an old pair of boots for now, but I have a pair of Gasolina classic boots on order that will hopefully come in in about two weeks. Gear for now: Icon Alliance Size M Gmax GM68S Size L Alpinestars GP Plus Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Mesh (not pictured) Mechanix gloves Gasolina Classic Boots (on order) Last futzed with by robmilchling; October 7th, 2011 at 09:40 PM. |

Shoei X-12 (probably gonna get replaced with Nexx R1R Carbon) NJK Custom leather suit Dainese Armored shorts, back & chest protectors Held Phantom gloves Dainese Torque Out Air boots I wanted to get the gear with the most protection I could (within reason) with lots of ventilation, and I think with the exception of the helmet, I can't go up from here. TBH... realized that the gear I'm wearing amounts to more than I've ever paid for a bike >.< |

Riding Gear Not Pictured: -WarmSkin balaclava -Held underglove silk glove liner Gear Coming Soon: -Dainese Alien pants -Dainese Thorax Protector (coming "eventually," more so than "soon") I've been working on and off over the past month on a review of all the gear I own or have owned, with pictures and such. I'll get around to finishing it up eventually. Last futzed with by reaubideux; October 20th, 2011 at 07:26 AM. New to the site, been reading all the stuff you guys have to help pick out what to do for riding pants, so far I'm leaning towards kevlar jeans and separate knee pads.
Anyway, my gear so far is... Helmet: Scorpion eXo 400 Jacket: Scorpion Hat Trick textile Gloves: Icon Patrol for cold weather, I've got a pair of Icon Persuits that I was wearing back when it was warm out. Boots: Sidi ST Helmet feels great, I probably should have ordered a larger size but instead of waiting for a return I removed one of the 3 foam layers from inside the inner liner, fits great now I just wish it had the fold down sunglasses like the more expensive helmets had. Jacket feels great, cool in the summer, warm in the winter, I finally added in the quilted layer this morning and went for a ride in 45 degree weather with just a t shirt under it. Neither of the gloves offer as much protection as I'd like, but they were comfortable temperature wise for the time of year I'm wearing them, probably getting something better next season. I'm in love with the boots, they feel amazing on the bike and now that they're breaking in they feel great off the bike too. |

I got an XXL, and although I'm skinny, I'm also tall. So while the chest is a bit big, the arms are at a perfect length.
Jacket is fine, held up to my loweside. However, recently 4 of the zipper teeth came off, which lead to the zipper coming off. Could have sent it in to A*s, but instead just had it done locally to fix it. Didn't feel like going through the hassle and lost time just to get a zipper fixed. |

Christmas shopping for myself!
NOTE: Rec'd gear already & decided to keep both pants since I'm a daily rider and I couldn't beat the price. Breaking in the gear always makes me feel like the Michelin man (lady).
I just bought myself more gear. Merry Christmas to me! Xelement - Textile jacket with hoodie. Armor in the jacket and the hoody sleeves have thumb holes. Xelement armored pants w/reflective piping. Scorpion Savannah Pants - w/armor. I'm going to try-on both pants to see which ones I like & then send back (or not) the other pair. I already own a Joe Rocket Mesh jacket w/armor that I use in the summer. It has a rain liner that I frequently use alone as a windbreaker. Last futzed with by LilBrat; December 9th, 2011 at 11:30 AM.
