Hay gaiz. Look at this:
http://gas2.org/2011/08/27/yamaha-to...s-over-250-cc/

You know what that means? Global Yamaha small-displacement sportbike offering.

Kawi was reacting to more than just Honda. It doesn't mean that Yamaha intended to sell it here, but they were probably about to move it into a lot more markets to recoup R&D costs that they were already dedicated to making. You don't honestly think that they'd ignore all the countries where they have to sell a 250, do you? Case in point: Yamaha Byson. They'll make a global 250-300 to sell in their own market as well now that they aren't making one specifically for their own market.

There you go again, always thinking about random people's butts...

Butt seriously, my comment is based off what we know of the Honda CBR250R and using that as a comparison. It is rated at 77 US mpg. 90 imperial mpg would work out to be roughly within the same range. Just my personal thoughts that's all...

if i were all of you i wont sell my 11 ninja 250 .. i will keep it
for reasons see this vid :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXdE_2p6pCU

(not my video)
im sorry its still in indonesian, but the bottomline is the plastics & build quality are MUCH worse than the 11 ninja 250. its like they didnt even want to make the damn bike.

and for the 2 stroke smoker ninja..
its a really GOOD bike smokes the 250 every time

Yeah I know kawa has to make the new bike lighter .. But they don't have to sacrifice the quality .. Why the thinner & wobbly plastics ? That's not the quality I expected from kawi ..

It's very similar to the 650R model.

Definitely looking forward to a new 250R though
That's not a 400cc...its a sleeved down 650.

Yeah you're right I'll wait till my neighbour / friend have one and then I will compare them

And about the parts I'll probably change something if the new one has better quality / style I hope they're bolt on to the old ninja

Oh please post this up! I would love to compare it to a stock carb dyno jetted stock carb dyno and full system carb dyno.

And if one of these lazy ass ecotrons install guys would get a dyno with a full pipe I'd love to compare that as well!

Question Rear suspension

Guys, did someone notice the rear suspension??
I cant find the mono-shock (or rather any shock)

I looked into the current ninjas, and could'nt find there as well.

Same as before... yeah, when I saw the redesign I got pretty excited about the potential for change under the skin. But the close look we got from the walkaround video shows a bike that appears to be nearly identical to the current one.

We'll see what the new frame does... I'm thinking "not much overall, no reason to sell your bike."

Lots of talk about putting the latest instruments/fairings on the old bike. I have a feeling that's not going to work well.

- the instruments fit into the fairing very closely... so a gauge swap would probably be difficult, not to mention the wiring is likely to be very different.
- The fairing mounting points are all different. That means you'd have to fabricate appropriate mounts on your frame.

Many people ditch the inner shroud/surround so, as long as the gauge mounting holes align, the only remaining concern is the wiring.

Yeah, but it'll have a 33-inch seat height.

The high seats on the R6 and R1 always puzzled me... given that Asians are generally on the short side compared to those in the west.

^^ I guess they figure that a compact bike should place handling over comfort? A lot of those motogp guys are on their tippy toes at the starting grid.
