I spent entirely too long installing DDM Tuning HID lights. I told myself repeatedly not to put any bolts in halfway with out tightening them fully because I would forget to go back and fix it. So what did I do, I forgot one bolt and later watched it fall out of the dashboard and onto the road less than a quarter mile from my house. The funny thing was that I was actually on my way to the motorcycle shop to pick up another bolt from my fairing that I discovered that I had dropped at some point while riding. Oh well, I got my new lights in and I can pick up my bolts from the shop next week (ordering from CA).
Now after riding with the HIDs I have to decide if I want to keep the HID for the low beamand potentially blind people (although I only ride on back roads at night), or go back to stock and only use the HID for the high beam. Damn too expensive projectors.

Well checked the mail today and my stock dog links came in so I can finally raise my bike back to stock! BIG THANKS TO DINO74 FOR HOOKING ME UP I'm about 6' so I could the additional ground clearance. My full exhaust came in. It's the not so well talked about one and the exhaust flanges do not look square/flush to me to the naked eye. I wonder if that's how it suppose to be. But what can I say, you get what you pay for.
Rather than install the parts or attempt to, I decided to do some work on the girl's bike. I changed out her oil and cleaned her chain and while I was cleaning out her chain, it started raining cats and dogs on me. Luckily I was just about finished but I may have to go over both our bikes chains again (our bikes are stored outside). My girl purchased a red 07 Ninja 250 last week so we could ride together. I think it had about 1500 miles on it and was pushed over and kicked by the previous owner's husband (bad divorce). So if anyone has a windscreen laying around, shoot me a PM! She's already taken her MSF course is currently taking her test to get her M endorsement on her driver's license as I type this.

I used this stuff last time:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OBP63S Possibly the same thing just relabeled. I have no complaints, but it is the only thing I have ever used so I may not be a good judge. |

Yeah, looks the same except, made for chains specifically.
Anyhow, I just finished raising my bike up to stock height. TOOK FOR E V E R doing it by myself lifting the rear end up and reaching down to fit the bolts in. Wish I had some friends close by to help! Something that should've taken like a 15 minutes ended up like over an hour. I might play with exhaust tomorrow.

I was riding home and about 1/4 mile from my house I finally dragged my peg / side of my shoe while I was just messing around going back and forth in my lane. It made me feel accomplished

I have more lean angle and ground clearance now that my bike is raised so should not be scraping exhaust and pegs as much now :d

Installed the AreaP exhaust hanger and finally ditched the passenger pegs. I then had a mini crisis. I was at a bike night and someone noticed oil leaking from my bike. Turns out my last oil change I ended up over filling, even though the level was checked twice and that caused the gasket to fail on the clutch cover. Luckily my friends helped tear my bike apart and resolved the issue /sigh

Yesterday, I cleaned SLIME-R and for the third time replaced her tank pad. The new tank pad is an Orbital tank pad, which seems to be working better and the pic is in my photo album.
The first tank pad I had was the skull one that I picked up from CycleGear. It ultimately didn't want to stay on because I believe when I first put it on it was just too cold. The second one was a cheap 'Monster' one I picked up off Ebay for $5. Well, it also started to pill up after a week. I then realized that even when it comes to tank pads you simply get what you pay for, so I spent another $20 on this new Orbital one. It was warm outside and I followed the directions precisely, so hopefully this time it stays on! Today, I'm going to ride around town. |

Got her new footpegs, and then we met a ZX10R 2009 with (Two Brothers slip-on, no db-killer) and we deafened it! The dude on the ZX10R was shocked it was a 250 only

Met up with Bols and listened to his, basically, straight exhaust.
That thing is loud, no wonder some bloke with a ZX10R is shocked! Bought a fender eliminator kit from Bols and also got a upgrade in the post. I'll update my owners thread when the parts are mounted. It won't be the next few weeks I think..

I have been taking my ninjettes tail apart to make a fender eliminator when I found this:
this is a very large, 3 inch scratch on my left rear tail section that wasn't there last time I cleaned my bike (yesterday). The only person that has touched my bike since then was my step brother, this is the third or fourth time I've noticed scratches on my bike after he moved it in our shed. I didn't mention anything before because it was hardly noticeable, I'm gonna rip him a new one when he gets home .

I finished my fender eliminator, I made it out of the stock fender to save $$$.
before: during: after: here are a few more pics of the finished product, I just need to add some license plate lights and I'll be good to go.

BTW, does anyone have a specific set of led bolts they would recommend for this? the ones at my local dealer are $30 and I don't like them anyway so it's not worth the extra $$$. I've been looking at these from motorcycle superstore, but the reviews suggest they don't produce much light.

Thanks Kevin . I took the basic idea from this thread and decided to tweak it a little, I think it turned out well, better than I thought it would anyway.

I ordered the correct size power tips for my exhaust. last time, I ordered P1's and they're HUGE for my pipes. Did some more research and apparently the P2 size fits the pregen 2bros slipons fyi... LOVE the sounds those slipons make, but they're just too loud if it's not the middle of the day. I think it's just me being anal since I hear straight piped Harleys go by my house all day and i know I'm not THAT loud... anyhow, hopefully the powertips take the edge off the volume but keep the rumblyness

I ordered my bolt-fx led bolts off ebay last night and fabricated a rear set adjuster (brake side) tonight. It did lower my leg very close to the comfort zone of the gas tank (where it curves down for your leg). I don't trust the adjuster very much so I just left the bike without it. I'd consider buying real rearset adjusters if they weren't $80+.

I was going to go out and fly this morning but decided it was too windy so I put a 15t countershaft sprocket on the Ninja. I should have done this mod when I bought it last summer. World of difference riding on the freeway and around town.

They work well, but these bolts are a PITA when/if you have to change plates (e.g. after i moved from NY to NJ), so make sure to add some sort of removable connector (I used a M/F spade connector) inline when wiring them up. |

Thanks Cody. I think these might be better for the rear: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KAWAS...Q5fAccessories
The ones I just installed have a stem protruding from the back that would make it more challenging to install on the rear. Not that hard though. You should just need to make a custom mounting bracket for it.
