I decided to try it out this low and I took it out for just a 25 miles drive today and it feels good. I have good control and I hit open road, curves, turns and gravel roads without a problem. I DO think it can easily go up 1/2 an inch. But since it's not scrubbing or anything I'm gonna leave it til I feel really comfortable with the bike.

watch out if you should pack someone... that's when others were having problems with the rear tire eating through the fender liner on their lowered bikes. how much is the rear lowered?

While I'd really love it if my wife were into the same stuff I'm into, in a way she's the perfect biker chick:

We're unsure bc I forgot to measure today...again.
I'm thinking, based on the supposed measurements of the links...2 inches.
I told the place 1.5 inches. But, I think they got it wrong.
I will measure tomorrow to be sure.

I don't plan on ever carrying a passenger so I'm not concerned about that.

Tips from a photo ninja..

You can accomplish much with the self timer (as Kat was suggesting). Use your surroundings. I am often by myself and so I use fence posts, trees, stumps, (I have a tripod but don't always travel with it.) I have even used bridges

Examples:

Gaurdrail

Fence

Fence

Cement wall

Bridge

More tips:
Park the bike where you want it first. Glance through the veiw finder and focus it on the bike. This way your assured your focus is good.
Be sure your self timer is long enough for you to get into place.
Have fun!
Laugh!
Smile do what ever. Digital is wonderful if you don't like it later there is the recycle bin

Hope that helps!

Find a place to hold a ladies only motorcycle tech class. Either teach it, or assist. Then, advertise the crap out of it!

There's a place in Bellevue that holds tech nights through winter. They usually have at least 2 ladies nights. Women still show up to the regular tech nights too. Oh, and these are free. I figure the shop gets good advertising that way.

My wife is a pro canvas person-- does boat canvas work. Had her look at Joe Rocket stuff--not just the gloves. Says the material is good but the thread and stitching is really bad. Her opinion, Aerostitch is the way to go.

Really have to wonder if those kanji things really mean what they are telling us them mean...gonna have to befriend an asian who can read those things. Remember hearing that some chinese food place was upset at people using kanji for tattoo's and instead of angel, they were drawing the symbol for whore

the characters themselves are correct........ but they are rotated 2'o clock....... both should be rotated back counter clockwise to 12'o clock, make sense?

Yeah it does, but I slanted it so it would go with the cowls slanted direction, instead of straight (12 o'clock)? Anyway, I hope that's quite all right

So, I've already posted some of my wife on her bike, but here's a few more...

My wife has done 2 triathlons now and is training for her 3rd. Here she is, on her "bike"! At her second triathlon in Elma, WA.

And here she is training.

Yes, I'm quite proud of her

At Seattle Science Center on another "bike"!

Amy testing out new bikes at the Cycle World Motorcycle Show at Qwest Field.

Dirt road on a 250! Woo Hoo!

And one of her favorite pics of her "real" bike :P
Also, this is the only "approved" picture she was going to let me post... "Shhh!"

Excellent. I like her bike. I've been looking at a Trek 1.2 lately.

Triathlon's interest me. I'm just trying to get my cycling up to par, then maybe I'll join the Tri ranks.

Love the pictures... keep 'em coming. Maybe we'll hit 1,000 posts on this thread by the time we get back from our cross-country trip in September. Tell your wife good luck on her next triathlon.

The high bike at Seattle Center is right by the arches in the middle of all the Science Center buildings. When you go in the gate, there's two levels. The lower level is level with the water. The upper level is where you can get to the high bike. It's got a weight hanging from it to help balance the bike when you go around the track. And there's a net if you fall, but I don't think anyone ever has. It's there all year round, but they might close it during the winter... Or if there's hight wind

Talking Women and ATGATT

Just like Jael, just went through the whole thread, and it took a LONG time.
It was all well worth it though.

What I was most amazed by was that it seems that 100% of women believe in ATGATT. Why is that? Is there something that we men are missing (I say we, but I always gear).

Here in Maine, you wouldn't believe the amount of guys that don't wear a helmet, jacket, gloves - sometimes not even shades. The two foot beard is in their face. I just don't get it.

Congrats to women rider for showing us how it's done!
