Put the exhaust on. Might be a tight fit with the fairing, who knows?
Airbox, chain, carb cleaning, caliper service, add coolant, change oil all coming next. |

So the other day when I was swapping out the 30s with the 32s carbs, when I was hook up my hand vacuum pump, to prime them, I did notice that it wasn't holding a vacuum.
So it's time to rebuild it, I heard that K & l Supply now offers a kit for the 88~07, as apposed to ordering 2 kits. So I ordered it (Part # 18-2702) and it's true. So if you need to rebuild your fuel shut off valve, your all set with one kit. Side note :ive updated the Wiki on Ninja 250 Riders Club to reflect this. https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Rebuil...tcock/fuel_tap

With assistance, changed out my shock. We didn't set up the pre-load yet (set one click from the lightest setting), it was getting dark and blood sugars were crashing all around, but even so, it's better than it was.
Bike's back on the road!!!!! |

New sprockets. Old chain cut off. Carbs cleaned (shinyyyyyyyy). New air box, cut the battery box off, put a new UNI drop in filter in, cut open the intake lid, and plugged the cali hole in the side because I'm not using no KLEEN air system!
Carbs gotta go back in, I still need to figure out the radiator, I have a new chain ready to go thanks to Corey Beth, and then it's just some PM work like brakes and coolant and maybe a uni track service even though my mileage isn't very high. Can someone do me a huge favor so I don't have to search a bunch...? Can I get a picture of the front sprocket, washer, and lock nut on a newgen? Just want to make sure I get them all on there facing the right directions I also need to find all the torque values for the new stuff I'm putting on from the newgen and/or wing it based upon the pregen values |

Sold the last of the Ninja 250s - the Ninja Beater - yesterday.
Looked bad, but ran good. Sonic Springs, Pirelli tires, New Gen shock, adjusted and tuned. My oldest boy rode it for almost 4 years and a couple sets of tires. Commuted on the hwy about 75 mi to and from school on occasion, and rode it like a Supermoto for the most part. He's saving his money for a XR650R that will eventually be a Supermoto. Still have 1 Ninja left (youngest boy), but it's a 500, and is for sale. He's looking to go 600. I've got a couple SVs and a few vintage bikes, so I'm good for now - but you never know. |

Installed some Vesrah RJL/JL pads.
It was so hot the hand tools were almost burning my hands. Showered and went to Rita's to get Italian ice afterwards. |

This is probably just a float level adjustment away. No cleaning needed yet, I would feel 100% comfortable eating out of my carbs....but that would make them dirty.

Went to the shop where she's awaiting her new engine parts got everything but the head gasket and cylinder base gasket. Anyway had to finish off the replacement air box that was missing a few key pieces. Put the new lid on and installed the rubber strap that holds the battery and airbox in place. Got both pieces off eBay cheap. Lid came off a '98 strap was brand new. Oh the joys of the little things. She will be getting her new heart next week. Holed a piston. New pistons are in. Problem that caused it has been addressed. I get to help rebuild her to cut labor costs and I'm super excited. My first engine rebuild and what I'm about to learn and experience can't be measured. Even bought a notebook solely for this project. After next week I will have the knowledge to rebuild a top end

Drill a hole and tap it. Seems over half, maybe even 80% of yellow-flags are due to someone destroying their GoPro/knock-off. Every one of those dumped on track, is because they used double-sided tape.

I went to Lowes and picked up a piece of 1/8" aluminum about an inch wide. One end is bolted to one of the holes for the orig handlebars, the other end sticks up in front of triple and holds the camera mount. It'll be stuck with double stick and also get wrapped with something so it wont peel off.
My race club requires tethers for cameras. |

I had a major job today. Those little 250r decals put on Lucy. Phew that was a lot of work.
Uncle @Ram Jet what do you think?

Hence the solenoid is going bad, most likely it's not the battery because it's reading fine. The battery is on its 4th season, so it could be going as well, but the solenoid is a lot cheaper than a battery. I'll be sure to report how it turns out.
