On my beat up and busted Pregen 250 I can go about 180 miles before I have to switch to reserve. I would say I drive pretty aggressively with the throttle most of the time.

The other day I ran the tank dry by accident at 227 miles. I fill the tank up a little before the neck, not actually touching it.

Almost 200... I'm not very heavy handed. Occasionally I'll have a little fun, but I usually ride economically. Zx6r

I normally switch to reserve about the 240 mile mark. Sometimes it's went to 250+, sometimes I'm switching by 230 but usually it's around 240 or so. Then I'll ride probably another 10 miles or more before I fill up. Usually put in 4 gallons or so, so I'm not using that much of my reserve fuel.

Only about 130, 150ish on reserve, which makes me mad since it's a 3.8 gallon tank. I get about 40 mpg but I can't help but think I should be getting a bit more than that...

When I go easy on it I get about 225 miles on my weekly commute. I usually fill up a little less than 4 gallons, so I could go a bit more. I don't trust the gas gauge though, and the mileage isn't always constant, so I don't like to push it any more.
Pushing it a little harder I get less. |

I get somewhere from 195 if I'm balls to the wall the whole time, and 230. Usually I'll fill it up when the gauge shows empty not when the tank is actually empty. Not a big risk taker when it comes to that.

I've put in as much as 4.9 gals into my tank and last night I filled up at 240 miles and only put in 4.3 so I know I still have a bit more in it.

I normally get maybe 210-220 or so before hitting reserve. On a recent highway trip I was riding at indicated 70+ for a couple hours and ended up checking my mileage at the fill up and found I was getting about 70 mpg.
I honestly don't understand it. I was not riding easy, but I guess maybe riding at a nearly constant speed, almost no stops, no slow or stop n go in town riding really made a difference? Normally I seem to get close to 60 mpg. |

I think if I go easy, I fill up around 260. Though if I push it hard I was staring at an empty fuel gauge at 160. I think I will stick to going around 65.

I have a bone stock 08 250 and I only got 48 mpg on my first tank out of her. She only had 1400 miles when I bought her. I've since changed how I'm riding and make sure I shift at 7,000 rpm's or lower if I can help it. I hope to see above 50 mpg because I bought the bike hoping for 60 to 70 mpg. My riding is probably 70% city 30% hwy.

I usually fill up before 200 miles on a tank. It's not worth risking finding myself stranded and possibly having to inconvenience someone else to come get me because I was too lazy to stop and fill up.

I fill at 200 because I need to go to reserve at around 215. I've never pushed it to completely empty.
Most of my riding was freeway, but now it's all town. |

I always get 200miles (320km) per tank, mix city and highway. Filling up with usually 12.5L (3.3gal).
