So what makes Moty Design betteries less dangerous than anyone else? He uses A123 batteries, just like everyone else. It's not like it is some top-secret design from NASA. I'm sure we have both been building batteries for quite a few years now.

No offense to Moty, he offers a wonderful service. I, however, will not be partaking in the service. You can do as you please.

A123 Li-Ion 26650 Nanophosphate 2300mah Cells are like 17-24 each..
so by the time you put your own battery together you've spent more than $80!

Not when you work at Lowe's and can get them for $5 a piece via Dewalt drill batteries. Also, you can find them for much less than $17 a piece if you shop around. A lot of RC car/airplane guys are using them and the hobby stores are starting to stock them.

If you want to do a 6 cell you can get B grade 26650's for around $8 a piece.

In time the LiFE batteries will come down in price. The prismatic cells are actually pretty reasonable. The builders like Moty really don't have a lot of markup on what they are building. They still have to buy the cables, shrink wrap, connectors, battery bars, etc... Like I said, it is a great service. I just choose not to participate.

In any case...FYI - Rudy bought an 8 cell Ballistic battery and that thing wouldn't even turn over his bike. Same stuff as MotyDesign? Perhaps...IDK...but what IDK is it FAILED! LOL

Yeah, this deal is for the 4 cell. I run the 4 cell on the my 600 and NEVER had any issues. I've had the bike sit for 6 months straight and it fired up on it's first try.

8 cell is needed for street bikes...
I'll do 4 on my 250 and maybe an 8 for my 1000.

Not true. 4 cell works for our 250 (street or track) but anything bigger than 250cc an 8 cell is needed is what my guy said.

Also he had this to say (Keep in mind he's referring to the 600cc-1000cc.)

Don't buy the Ballistic batteries, Kit. They suck. Rudy (Zman) bought two 4 cells and both failed. I could understand maybe one...if that...but both? C'mon...really?
