I am on Lake Ontario exactly where the green and yellow meet. The big yellow blob is considered central and sometimes upstate NY.

You're closer to where I ride than I am. Mess aronud on a bunch of roads off 9 when I can....just north of Bear Mtn....spend time up around 301 near carmel too. Keep your eye on the NYC riders...we get 1/2 way to hudson often enough.

depending on how long a ride you want there are some good roads here-
route 8 is pretty nice - from where i am, one of the places it will take you is into CT (winstead to be exact)

i think last year i ran down 22 - it was nice, not really twisty, but good until it started to pour

Nick.....you're in freekin' Alaska. Dont feel bad.....I'm down near NYC ( like 16000000 people) and it's hard to get a crew together because everybody have jobs and other stuff to do.
Some of the NYC boys were talking about Niagara falls....you're kinda "on the way".....would you be up for that...the canadian border guard girls are HOT. You need a passport or an enhanced drivers license but...I dunno...I think I'll start a niagra thred and see who says they might go.

I live in Monroe NY as in right next to Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets. I ride a 95 CBR F3 (sold my ninjette earlier this year). I'd love to find some like minded (2 wheels on the ground and gear) people to ride with. Post!!
