the crash was caused by a lack of skill, not an abundance of power.

I hear that. Lack of skill is usually the cause of most mechanical problems anyways. I've done something similar on a CBR900rr. Rode it in hot and felt the rear slipping right around the apex (up-hill left hander.) I gave it some throttle to try to settle things down, but the 900 said, "Sorry bud, torque > traction." The rear slipped into the grass and that was all she wrote.

:0( Sad little cock. The bike. The cock-bike. (There's a chicken on it)
Alex, is she a track-only bike?

... though if you're going to shake things up, I say you make a beaker themed bike: Do you have a street bike, too?

Given your tremendously detailed post... I'm going to take it that yes, you will be making a beaker-bike. I expect photos soon.

i have a spare set of bodywork that i was going to sell... but i'll keep it now. you could say, the new cock is going to get a full job. still trying to think of a paint theme... open to suggestions. there is already a cookie monster bike so i feel like making a beeker bike would be kinda weird and creepy. it would be like racing against elaine's zeebra bike with a tiger bike... funny for a second but then you realize someone painted their bike purely to theme against your paint job. and even if thats not the case someone watching might think that. either way i'm kinda ranting now.
yeah.

Don't anybody worry, the cookiemonster bike will NEVER be on the race grid. Plus, Muppets and Sesame Street aren't quite the same genre, so you're fine.

@alex.s
how about a teenage mutant ninja turtle theme? green bike with a coloured bandana stripe running the length of the fairing and maybe a turtle shell rear cowl. As 250r riders we are basically ninja turtles anyway... the slowest ninja! |

I say go pirate bike with an eye patch and a parrot brake reservoir cover.
Q: Why was the ninja dressed like a pirate? A: 'Cause he was a 250 arrrrrrrrrrr!! Then you have an excuse to rape and pillage in the pits... And it forever prolongs the question, "Would you rather be a pirate or a ninja?" |

So... to show how bad my brain is after seeing pirate and ninja jokes, I actually had the thought:
I wonder if it would be bad to have a Ninjette track day. After all, everyone who shows up decreases every other ninja's health and that could be dangerous. (For reference: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Easter_eggs - first easter egg) |

Dude, you could get a wood-grain painted swingarm and a hook for a brake lever...
ok, I've gone too far. |

So let me get this straight, you lost control of the rear, and now you're considering turning it into a pirate?
Hope it comes out better than this guy. Looks like he lost control of the rear to a pirate as well: |

So much happened in the last few posts I don't even know what to day. Except I'm in full support of the cock pirate. They're the best kind of pirates?

so i took the clutch side cover off to look at the transmission. i was able to slide the external shift arms back over the shift fork hub. without removing the clutch. was surprisingly easy, only took about 10 minutes put. the cover back on and new oil in and shes as good as new... well... you know what i mean.
