Installed 16t front sprocket on my street-bike being used as occasional commuter to S.F. Should be result in less hectic engine and give a quieter smoother ride. We'll see tomorrow...

Sold it and all its current accessories! Bye bye, baby ninja. New owner is a kid and his dad. Seems excited. I'm glad it went to someone new so the dream can be alive.
PS: I'll have some more stuff for sale soon. A Muzzy pipe, some rocker arms, some intake runners, a Kawi valve tool, and a race suit. PM me if you're interested. |

I put a block heater on my car since it lives outside now and it's been colder than snot lately! The socket is very subtle and fits down in my bumper trim nicely.
Yepp... for real. I've not ridden it much at all the last 2 seasons. It's just not my thing lately. Maybe some day again! I'll keep the endorsement on my license, but I think I'm enjoying experimenting with a fun car for a bit. Miata's have a similar knowledge base to the ninjette. |

I thought longingly about my little Ninjette today. Raining, mudslides, closed roads.... so she stayed in the garage. It looks like it will be cheaper to combine husband's and my insurance policies now, though. We had our bikes separated because it was going to be expensive to insure new-rider-me on his bigger more expensive bikes. But now with two years of riding experience... not so bad.

No problem, but I'd go with the CoPs conversation as I've done. They offer hotter spark, which allows you to open the spark plug gap, less things to wrong too. Quote:

Oil Change
2007 model. Took it out of winter storage, didn't even have it on the battery tender. It started right up. (Bought it in September)
Let it warm up for a few minutes and changed the oil & filter. Next up: 1. Replace bolt & nut for center stand, upon inspection I found the nut missing! 2. New tires (Kenda k671s) on front & back, new chain, & sprockets 3. Replace fork springs & oil 4. Replace rear shock 5. Ride |

Bent the brackets holding the Two Brothers mufflers so the cans didn't hit the swing arm and cleaned off the big blob of JB weld the previous owner used to seal the exhaust instead of expanding the pipe to fit. I also pulled the half plugged screens from the outlets.
Then I took it out for a good hard ride! |

Detoxed cooling system
I removed the Dex-Cool antifreeze, flushed the system with Prestone radiator cleaner and water, flushed it again with distilled water and filled-up with Zerex G-05. Only about 12 months with the Dex-Cool. I can sleep well again.

"screens from the outlets"? Are you saying the Two Brothers mufflers have spark arrestors on them?
The ones on my bike did.... One side had quite a bit of carbon in the screen. Probably from before I went through the carbs. |

My son has taken over my "Johnny 5" project. ( But the bike is still in my garage. )
Got it registered and insured, a tail light and license plate bracket mounted then took it for a ride. Every time I hop back on one of these bikes they put a smile on my face. He has a new front tire here and the rear tire is on it's way. Eventually it will be a scrambler sort of thing. We'll see how it turns out. |

I dropped a 4" wire inside the exhaust pipe.
I was lubing the chain when my 3yo son grabbed the chain lube can lid and threw it inside the pipe. Look dad! I put it inside! he said. all happy. Damn! I made a wire hook to pull it out. I got the plastic lid out but I dropped the wire. Then I grabbed my telescopic magnet to pull out the wire, but didn't notice the magnet had caught a small washer. Yes, you guessed it. The washer ended up inside the pipe as well. Both things seem to be way down there now and I can't take them out. I guess I'll have to take the slip on apart and try from there. |

Oh how I’ve missed some of you. Nice to hear a lot of you are still around! Hope everyone has a safe riding season. It has been a horrifically LONG winter in Illinois. Now it’s nothing but sunny and 70. Perfect riding weather and when I’m not on my bike I’m dreaming or thinking about it lol. Lucy is doing great. She started right up after storing her all winter. I sold my 2001 problem child but after all the work I did to her I’m sure she will be great for her new owners. I just looked at the 2001 and it gave off bad vibes so nice that I don’t have that anymore. Now it’s just me and my good ol’ 2006 that I picked up last summer for a steal at $700. She (Lucy) has been nothing but great to me. I do have some rust on her handle bars near the choke I need to attend to but other than that she’s rockin and rollin and lookin good while doing it. I miss you all, glad to see some familiar screen names. You guys were great last year when I was going through all the drama with my ‘01 which ended up being a holed piston.
Ride on brothers and sisters I know once the temp gets to about 50 this morning I’ll be taking off. And the best part is, I have no idea where I’m going
