Installing woodcraft clip ons on my N300
I'm installing woodcraft clip ons on my N300.
So far so good. I took out the stock bars and measure how to fit the new ones. Clearance is pretty tight. The clip ons bring the bars not only down but also forward. I set the clamps 5mm below the top triple and ajust the levers angle so they barely made it by the windscreen on full lock. If I need to go lower than that, I'll have to grind the plastics here and there. I pushed the bars all the way so the inner end is coming out about half an inch. So it's the tightest and narrowest. Will see how it feels. I rotated the clip ons all the way to the back until they topped against the triple clamp. I rotated the brake line inwards about 60 deg to avoid touching the cluster. I loosened the banjo just a bit, rotated the connection and tightened again to torque. I didn't get any spill and so far it looks like it didn't get any air inside. Brake lever feels solid. Everything looks fine. I'll drill the bars for the electric switches holder pins and torque everything. The instructions says to torque the clip ons bolts to 'industry standards'. Does anyone know what torque this is? First picture shows a WC clip on on the left and a stock one on the right. |

So now you need to get fork caps. If those tops get wet, then the circlip that holds the spring stop in will rust & when it fails it will fire the spring & spring stop at you. Just so ya know !

Put bar end mirrors on, Reassembled the carbs, rejetted to dj98's in preparation for the factory airbox I have coming. I love eBay. It gave me a cheap way to correct my mistake of throwing the airbox air three years ago when I took it out.
Hoping to find time to spoon a new Michelin pilot street on the front tomorrow. |

Dynojet brand, size 98 main jet.
Dynojet and keihin both offer main jets, but they're different sizes, so it's important to specify the brand before stating the size. |

The only thing that is holding the forks springs are those circlips? I was planning to get the fork preload adjusters. I think SSR makes them, but I may get just forks caps. Do you have any recommendation for those forks caps? Mine is a N300. |

Installing woodcraft clip ons on my N300
Update on my woodcraft clip on's.
Everything went fine. No need to touch anything. The levers feel now a bit high. I'd like them to be more in line with the line of the forearm, but to do that I should raise the clip on's some mm and I prefer to have them low as they are. No problems on full lock and they don't touch the plastics. The only comment to add is about the torque on the clip on's. Woodcraft recommends to torque to 'industry standards'. I think is kind of poor from them to say this on the instructions. Since they know what this industry standard is and they know the grade of their bolts, they could indicate the torque. I don't why they don't do it. I looked on line for this industry standard and it seems to be 12Nm for that kind of bolts. However, I found that some people on line confused this torque with the torque indicated by the service manual for the stock 'Handlebar Mounting Bolts', which are stronger bolts and should be torqued to 25nm. And it looks like if you try to torque the Woodcraft clip on's to 25NM you're most likely going to damage the threads, so be careful with this. Clip on's are nice. Happy with the new position. I also installed the R6 short throttle tube so the bikes feels sharper. |

Got new levers for the Triumph, put them on yesterday real quick (started to rain not 2 mins after I got them on). Went to start the bike tis morning and nothing, has a clutch in mode to start so I knew the issue. Had to get to work on the 250. Ohhh the difference between the two bikes. Tightening the upper adjustment got some response and it started but it wouldn't engage fully. I will have to check the lower adjustment tonight.

That's a pretty hefty way to design an exhaust, looks like it would last forever.

Mitts E-07 Tyres
Well after a little green landing & some slips & slides on damp mud, I decided that some proper tyres were in order.
So here they are. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p9axavapg7...%2024.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/9inhv73o1o...%2033.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/4219iz1i3q...%2049.jpg?dl=0 Only had a brief scoot up our street, so will report back on use later. Front is stock size 100/90-19 rear is a 120/90-17 which is 40mm taller and than the stock Kawasaki 130/80-17. So works out about 6% larger radius, so should raise the gearing a little. They look good IMO. |

Added cameras front and back, replaced rear taillight. I wasn't sure what had messed it up, since we tapped that circuit for power to the camera (I wanted the camera to turn on and off with the bike, and the tail light circuit will be on with the key), but it was just a burned out lamp. Whew!
