Installed an LED flasher relay so my integrated tail light and front turn signals would all work.

Just ordered lowered risers from Richard at racebikerentals! Hopefully they get here soon so I can install them. Tips on getting the bar-end bolts out? ninja250.org says it's easiest to just drill them out

Drill em or put a torch to them for a min or so . I drilled the head of the screw off mine. Then pulled the ends off and used a pair of vice grips to grab onto the remaining thread sticking out of the bar and unscrwed them out.

Do that for about 5-10min Grab a #3 phillips and it should start to move. If that doesn't move it get an adjustable wrench stick a #3 phillips bit in there and then twist it out. Wear some thick gloves so you can push the bit in as much as possible. Worked for me and the screws came out just fine. (Keep in mind that you do this while the bar end is hot wear something to protect your hands)

thanks for the headsup on this. i will be doing my control mods tomorrow nite. was hoping to not need to remove the barends since i got WC clip ons, new throttle tube and grips and new barends (w zx-r on them) and my green adjustable shorty levers, just doin a complete overhaul on the handlebars. didnt think id need to remove the barends at all until i realized the clutch controls are mounted w only one bolt! dammit!
the brake assembly is two bolts and comes off without removing the grip, why couldnt they do that to the clutch assembly too??? o well. i'll take some pics of everything and post them tomorrow nite if all goes well

Today I was fooling around with the tail light on my 1988 Ninja,
I had some leftover LED's and thought they would look good. So I put sockets in the rear bulb housing. At first I wanted them to be running lights. But the LED's are white or Blue. They turn the light coming through the lens green. So I put in regular bulbs and wired them to the brake light. Now when I hit the brakes the whole back of the bike lights up. |

I got to get drenched in rain again . I hate how the weather here does 360s all the time. I would wear my textiles more often but there is nothing that fits me on the market. Gonna have to get them tailored or something soon

Just like this, minus the front reflectors I already removed.
MSRP - $400 dealer fees -- 2.9% financing for 36 months, couldn't pass it up. Put the money from the Ninja back in the bank. |

Less revs, more torque -- pretty fun, way different. Better around town and in slow traffic, probably not as nice on short highway bursts (but I haven't tried yet).

The black plastic rivets, holding the inner fairing and outer fairing together, started to break. I looked around my garage for a solution, then found a set of fairing fasteners. I ordered them from Bikebolts.com a long time ago. They fit well - size M4 washers, speed nuts, & button head screws.
