Thanks guys!! And yeah I am really hoping that they will make some major changes to that new design, not that I will be in the market for one anytime soon, but it just doesn't look right.

@Ben M
Great looking Subie! I am a big fan of the WRX and STI. Seems like the perfect car for me. Possibly my next car. But that is a long time from now. And give it some time, I think you'll start liking bikes just as much if not more than cars. |

^ Thank you! It is definitely a great car, the perfect combination of fun and practical. And you may be right, I still have much to learn about riding so as I improve I may like bikes more than I do now.

please excuse my crappy photos from my busted camera phone.
My 2010 Civic Si before i traded it for my pick-up truck. Loved that thing, super fun to drive. I consider it the ninja250 of the car world, might not be the fastest but sure is hell of a good time. I would get another one in a heart beat if i needed another sedan. And 2012 WRX hatch limited package, I had it E-tuned, but then got rear-ended and gave me an excuse to go stage 2. I love when the insurance company pays for my mods Since i have been running cobb stage 2 map and am not impressed with performance, sound is great though. I need to get it dyno tuned. Sold the black 77 El Camino. Too much rust for me.
Engine blew on the 73 El Camino SS. Likely due to previous owner (I only had it a month, not really enough time to completely thrash an engine). Bought a restored 78 Ranchero GT. Bought that 81 Vette I posted about in January from the guy who bought it. He did just enough R&R to get it running. Right now it just needs a bit more TLC mechanically to be perfect. I'm currently diagnosing a charging issue. After that just needs a general fuel system refresh (cracked hoses, carb adjusted, etc). Then needs interior work.

My new ride!
02 Focus ZTW! 5-speed, leather, sunroof. My dream car. Since I picked it up I've Plasti Dipped the wheels, grille, and tail gate strip, replaced the valve cover gasket, and slapped on a ram air intake from Volant. Ordered some new wheels yesterday as well! But she has some issues and I now have to sell the 250R to cover the costs... but I won't stay gone. The gf still has her ninjette and I will be doing a SM conversion on my Honda CRF250R.

Oh my god oh my god oh my god.
Oh my god.
Most of you probably don't remember that I had a 1992 Porsche 968 (also in this thread) that I lovingly referred to as the Ghetto Porsche. In October of last year, a distracted kid in a pickup truck rear-ended me while I was waiting to pull into my driveway, totaling my 968. Several months of saving and one mortgage refi later, I just scored a major (MAJOR) upgrade! |

(Regrettably) sold the 73 El Camino.
Been using the hell outta my Ranchero though. Support truck for the local classic/notsportbike group. Transporting all my bike parts to the powdercoater. Looking like a general badass on my way to anywhere. You get the idea. Too bad it gets roughly 10-13mpg. Also had some fun with the Vette (note the GoPro mount, wink wink).

Ytse - I can sympathize with your loss of your 968. I had an 86 944 that I bought on the tourist delivery program in 1985. I drove it all over Europe then the factory shipped it over here and I drove it for 12 years and 172K miles before it was totaled. It was 15 years until I bought my 911 Turbo. I've had it for about 19 months now and love it. As you can see by the picture below I really love red. I bought my 2007 GMC Canyon last week and it fits in well with my 08 Ninjette and the 911.

How do you like that 'lil truck so far? I've considered one of those but but my family and I decided a tC made more sense for me right now. Guess I'll just need to get a little (tiny) trailer to tow around the ninja with the tC.

Definitely noticing a theme with the color. The Turbo looks sweet! Guards Red is the proper color for Porsches from that era, and I absolutely love the old school Fuchs wheels and tea tray rear wing. The title should be arriving today, so if all goes well, I should have mine on the road tomorrow!

Ytse - My Fuchs were modified by a PO. They are now 17" 3 piece modular and much wider. The rears have 315s whereas stock they were 245s. Really helps to tame the old oversteer issue of early 930s. My 930 puts out about 400 rwhp so without the extra meat back there it could be a handful. There are a lot of cars with that kind of power but the 930 is unique in that it is pretty light and has all that power behind the rear wheels. Most cars can enter a turn too hot and you just let off the gas and it comes back into line. You can't lift in the 930 because it takes the weight and downforce off the rear wheels and allows the rear end to come around and pass you as you enter the ditch at the overcooked speed. It's a lot of fun if you show it the respect it deserves. |

A few updates on these guys.
The Ranchero has been giving me grief in terms of the fuel system. The symptoms were starving at WOT and after about 30 minutes it would lose some fuel pressure and run very lean. It would also take some cranking to start when warm and sitting for several minutes. At first I thought it was the fuel pump. I replaced that and it fixed it for a bit, but the symptoms came back. Next I thought the fuel line may be an issue. That's when I installed a fuel pressure gauge and replaced the rubber lines. The air cleaner still slightly kinked the hose from the carb inlet, so I got a proper kit for the carb. It's a 90 degree line that goes straight down and then forward, and attaches with a banjo bolt. No more air cleaner interference. I'm also converting to AN fittings and braided hose. I'm still waiting on one fitting because the hard line turned out to be 5/16", not 3/8". After further inspection, it turned out to be the electric choke. The housing kept rotating in the body, so it was set to EXTREMELY LEAN OH MY GOD IT'S SO LEAN IT'S LIKE A CHICKEN. At least there's some nice kit on it now... ___________ As for the Vette. My dad and I have been working furiously on it. We replaced a bunch of interior parts. The seats and carpet are still trashed though. We replaced the computer, which was fried. Radio is now a RetroSound Model One with some decent speakers. No sub or amp like I wanted though, even though I have both sitting on the shelf from when I was going to do it to the El Camino. Fixed all the dash lights and such. We're getting a rebuilt carb from MountainMan Fuel Systems. They're amazing if you're ever in the market for an OEM rebuilt carb. Replaced all the rubber hoses in the engine. They make a complete kit for that. With all the OEM markings (colors, lines, ribs, etc). Replaced all the TVS fittings, and will likely be trying to fix the AC. It's likely the condenser and not the compressor that's bad. If it works we'll convert to r134a. If not, we'll take it off and plug everything properly until we decide to fix it. The biggest thing we've done so far though, took three weekends. The exhaust and ALL the suspension. We got a cat-back kit from Ecklers. New y-pipe and straight through mufflers. Sadly they have can-opener baffles, not perforated baffles like they should. Ends with 4 slash-cut mufflers. Looks pretty cool, but was a bitch and a half to install and get it right. The front and rear suspension has all new poly bushings, and all the wear items were replaced. We even rebuilt the steering box. That was four days of probably 12+ hours to do. Right now we're just waiting on our carb back. After that we can fire it and should be a mechanically fit vehicle.
